Okay, so I left myself open with that Subject line... But, today I found a pair of Avocado Kenmores and was curious about what vintage they may be. First the Dryer- The controls face straight up, towards the ceiling, with a sliding metal door that covers all the knobs. On the right is a red indicator for "Cool Down". Very smart looking. The washer is a "Kenmore 800" with two smaller knobs flanking both sides of the large timer knob; all of them to the right side of the console. No doors. To their left is a rocker switch for an optional Second Rinse. Looks like a cast "chrome" potmetal finish to the whole affair. Any guesses guys? Both are headed to the scrapper! Cory |

Cory, first of all THAT KENMOER 800 is what JasonL is looking for. It's the machine he & I both had in our childhoods (me in high-school lool). Save it, I hope it's in salvageable shape for Jason's sake. The washer is form 1969 to 1971. The dryer, sounds the mate to the washer someone obn here found a week or so ago--with the sliding control panel access door. That dryer is from 1967 or 1968. Possibly worth salvaging. Bob |

but she started acting up so I dumped her for a Maytag. We have been together for almost 15 years now, and I haven't had a problem with her at all. And believe me, she puts up with a lot of bull from me! Tex : ) |
