That sharp edge at the bottom of the softener dispenser has gotten me a couple of time...bled like a stuck pig. Funny thing is this...when I had my Amana Raytheon built washer if rom the 90's that I bought at Sears, it had the same issue. I called Amana at he time and they sent out a cap so I won't get nicked. My SQ AWN311 has the same issue so I called Alliance and was told they would look into it....and this is how many years now?! Lol

SQ Washers= Built better than you!. Could you remove the dispenser and sand the edge down?

This has happened to me a few times as well; usually when in a hurry. I've learnt my lesson and make sure I am aware of the dispenser during unloading.

If you are still bleeding after 4 hours you may need to have that looked at.

why wasn't the sharp edge of the dispensor smoothed off at the SQ factory?Usually its common practice to smooth and deburr edges of parts before the machine is sent from the factory-esp parts the user will contact while using the machine. This sounds like carelessness on the part of SQ.could lawsuits be brewing over this?I will now have second thoughts of buying one of these-this is a quality control issue.

Oh, don't you guys know? Speed Queen machines are meant to be used by REAL men! No women washing here, they just can't handle these manly machines.. :) :) :) :)

Seriously though, I'm surprised that this is something they overlooked. Maybe the tooling is getting worn, causing these sharp edges to appear after years of use.

I'm sure a bit of 50 grit sandpaper will take care of those edges PDQ... Then a bit of 1000 grit just to polish it off a little..

I'm sure if Whirlpool made their machines like that, there would be a class action lawsuit by now...

Man, I just love that "New England" and "Bawwston" accent. One of these days, I wouldn't mind going to see the Big Apple, Coney Island and all of that.
