Hey if you really don't have the room, I can help with that, just put them in your carry-on when you come out here in a couple weeks!

dryer service I'd love to get a copy. How do these differ from the CLB-6?? Were yours actually built in Canada? And were they slightly different?

Cant wait to see more best of luck.

Like to see your detergent in that machine as well if you can.

I'll be sending you some emails later tonight - hope your inbox doesn't send them all to 'spam'... LOL

Appearance-wise these Westys are almost identical to the CLB-6 and CD-6.   Mine were indeed built in Canada at the old Westinghouse plant in Hamilton (not far from Toronto), Ontario!

There are some slight cosmetic differences - the front panel on the Canadian models is completely smooth while the American models have a slight square inset where the control dials are.  The Canadian division probably chose to not re-tool their assembly line...

Otherwise, the components and parts are the same.

Did you find these locally or did this involve a major road trip??

You can use them for Beach Towels and throw those extra cups of sand in the Washer to prove Betty Right.

Look at the sculpture on that door! I mean, I like panels as much as anyone but pritmuch every other washer is just a box with a panel by comparison. (Except the 3-stripe Easys.)

If there's a 9" wheel on the R behind the panel of the dryer, keep your eye on the space between inner and outer tub. Once a year I had to dig the lint out with a coathanger. The tub would stop turning, the lint picked it plum up off the drive wheel. Otherwise the dryer was trouble free. The washer needed motor pulley, pump pulley, pump shaft, spin sheave, boot. Boot was the only thing I couldn't do. I was 15.

Unbelievable! I guess you will have to buy another house then!

Or you could always put up an 'outbuilding' for a washer studio.

You really have an amazing collection Jon. Congrats on your newest acquisiton.

The luck of the Irish????

What a great find!!! And they look to be in such good shape. I'm guessing 1954, 1955. I used these as a kid going around town washing in other people's homes.

I have room!!! I have room!!!!

Good luck with them. They're quiet as a mouse when running.

Congrats on the dream find.............

I'm still looking for the elusive 1956 Deluxe Set - I would gladly give up the two vintage machines I have if I could find my dream set from '56. It's hard find to say the least and several years searching have been unsuccessful - but the search will continue!

They're so cool. The almost don't even look real... The neighborhood I grew up in (Hidden Hills Village in Brookfield, WI... 15 min outside of Milwaukee) was filled with 1940-60 split levels and ranch houses, including about a dozen or more "Westinghouse All-Electrics" as the NAMEPLATES on the very houses so proudly stated. Makes me now wonder just what washing appliance goodies those homes originally came with...
