My Dad has a GE dishwasher model number GSD4000J0BB. The serial number is HL807178B. Can someone tell what year this DW was made? I thought this DW washer was a piece of crap until last week.

The installtion crew from Home Depot installed it incorrectly several years ago. Instead of the drain line being loopped along the side of the DW it was hanging below the DW under the floor of the kitchen. The water would never stay in for it to wash or rinse. Took the panels off last week, pulled the drain line up and loopped it on the side of the DW (way above the water level). That thing now washes and purrs like a kitten.

Its amazing how some of these installation crews don't know a single thing about installing applicances. Some of them think a DW uses hot and cold water! GEEZ!

Anyone out there?

Can someone please run serial #HL807178B to see when a GE Nautilus dishwasher model GSD4000J0BB was made?

I would appreciate it very much!

Thanks!
David

Glad to hear it's working better now. I'm not surprised the installation was poorly done. I like Home Depot and Lowe's OK for buying things, but I wouldn't trust their installaion service. Have heard too many stories about things done incorrectly.

Seeitrun -

If you are ever curious about GE MFG dates, just call their 800-number, they will tell you over the phone.

In discussions of Duets, I heard horror tales about their delivery people not being trained that the suspension should not be released unilt it was ready to slide into place. They would do it in the truck.
