Boy, that's original, but I think it dates more from the mid to late 60s. It still has the wash arm with the openings in big bumps like the old KitchenAid wash arm. Unfortunately, not only does the motor running the pump turn at half the speed of the KitchenAid, the pump also has to feed the tower and Power Shower. The GE lacks the filter that KitchenAid always had. Almost any dishwasher is better than no dishwasher, but this is not a strong cleaning machine. It is in great shape and you could not buy the butcher block top for the price.

I wonder how a machine like this would wash with the tower feed blocked.

no filter in GE

Wasn't the lack of filter because GE already had the soft waste disposer?

Perhaps, but wasn't the whole era w/out filters?

With water use what is was, they justt kept changing the water until it came out grit-free!
