Serial (cereal?) number. Interestingly, my clothes have come out of this washer 'wetter' than the LG, but not as wrinkled. |

Serial number. Clothes came out beautifully, not too hot, nice and fluffy. Thanks, Kenmore! |

You have Direct Drive machines made by Whirlpool. For sure less than 20 yrs old most likely early 2000's units. These are good solid performers. Most likely will outlast any LG. They are well optioned as well. The reason for wetter clothes is that these only spin to 640 RPM versus 1400 for most LG's.
Nice washer and dryer, Enjoy them. Nick WK78 |

That was a popular model for Sears 2000...something. They are DD machines. People here like the Slow Fast setting to reduce wear. Manual 2nd rinse. At least you dont have a lid lock and you can add water via reset water level knob. Classic whirlpool dryer with a therminster.. Please use your auto feature when drying. Hope this helps for now.

Congrats Charley...nice set...
The washer is commonly referred to on the site as a "Shredmore"... The "Fast" wash speed is quite vigorous, as it's a Direct Drive... Although I don't think it's much more taxing on the clothes than the Amana/SQ I have... Nevertheless, the "Slow" and "Extra Slow" wash speeds will come in handy, and suitable for the majority of your laundry... If you don't like them and want to sell, let me know... Wise move on the LGs... George |

You have yourself some very reliable machines! For your washer, Just be sure of what speed to use depending on your fabrics and you will have no problems with wear on clothes. ;) |

Exactly what I wanted to know: What they are, and little tidbits about their use. Really appreciate it, group! Going downstairs to do another load as soon as I press "preview and post". |

I'd love to have this set. I miss a true two-speed washer and if I buy another TL (vintage probably) its a must. |

Im on this side (deluxe) at the moment, is because I have the exact same washer! It's just starting to act up a little, so I came over to see about non Vintage Kenmores. My partner and I bought it from Sears in 2000, (there's a date) and have have had no problems until now (just a coupler) It has been very dependable for 12 years! So I'l fix it! and continue on! I've never had a FL machine, and aint planing on getting one. I like being able to open the lid and see what's going on, or feel the water for softness, or look at the suds level, or as you say "hear" what going on! I think you'l be happy with yours for a long time.
Best of Luck |

May you continue to enjoy your new set. Congrats on nabbing them. I miss the 90 Series Kenmore we had. I would have loved to have taken it and the 80 series dryer with us when we moved 7 years ago, but we had to leave them behind. Enjoy these well. Have a good one, James |
