Well after months of planning, programming and most importantly scanning, the new Daily Doctrine Dispenser is live this morning. To go into the Dispenser page you simply click on the new menu item added to the navigation bar above (see image below with red circle).
Today's Doctrine are brochures from Maytag entitled A New Generation of Dependable Maytags from 1966. When Maytag first introduced their center-dial automatic Washers and Dryers they published these beautiful glossy brochures to show them off. These highlight the models 906, 806, 606, 406, 206 and 106 washers and all of their matching dryers. Please let me know if you find any issues with the new system and I will get them fixed ASAP. This will be my main focus for the day, so I will be on my laptop all day. Thanks everyone, I sure hope this new feature turns out to add to excitement and enjoyment to automaticwasher.org! This certainly will be an evolving project over time, this is just the beginning. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Unimatic1140's LINK |

Just downloaded my first Doctrine! Robert has done a stunning job of saving these pieces! The color, alignment, ease of access is impressive.
First Doctrine Maytags! made me ----jump! Ugh those pushbuttons up close are - GASP! You know me I was never a big Maytag fan but now I hate to admit I want one!! See what living color does? |

Thanks everyone, so far so good. It looks like things are working just fine. There have been a bunch of downloads so far, thanks everyone for your support! The new Dispenser system I hope will work out wonderfully for anyone who wants will be able to build a digital library of washer and appliance "porn" lol.
For those who have downloaded the brochure, what do you think, pretty cool, eh? Love the font that Maytag chose to use for the push buttons on the 906 set! I wonder if it was a specific font or it was hand drawn. I would love to find that font to use on the site here. The closeups of the control panels are great. Has anyone had any issues using the system? Is it easy to figure out? Just keep me posted. Thanks again everyone! What??? We might even get Jon to add a Helical Drive Maytag to his collection??? ;-) |

The unique low, angle shot of the control panels is phenomenal. It makes the machines look like gods. I noticed that they used the same blue and green towels in the 906 load that you used in the 55 Frigidaire on your TV show. They're such copycats at Maytag
For Ben and the Maytag whizzes: The text says that the 806 has a 45 minute spray rinse, but farther down the line it's only 30 seconds, and there is no listing for the 906, just "spray and deep rinses." Hoping that the 906 at least 45 and maybe a full minute. Do youse know? |

Robert, since you added one to your collection a while back I suppose anything is possible :)
Lol very true Mark, I think Jon is going to be one tough sell! Robert, I just downloaded the BEAUTIFUL Maytag literature and I have to say the attention to detail is really obvious. I can't imagine how long it most have taken you to get these all ironed out. Thanks Tim, it took me a while to learn how to do this scanning and cleaning bit, but I think I've got it down pat. It definitely takes some time to do these. But in the long run, having digital libraries of this stuff will be worth it. Boy do these look nice on the new iPad3, this might make me break down and get one eventually. 45 minute spray rinse Yay, now that's my kind of spray rinse Mike!!! |

Hey Doug, thanks glad you like it. I have plenty of GE Filter-Flo stuff coming down the pike in the coming months.
I can't remember when exactly I thought this up, its something I had been thinking about for a while. Just finally got around to putting down my thoughts onto paper or in the cause paper into zeros and ones :-) |

Would you be interested in any decent Australian brochures to put up?
Hi Leon, at some point absolutely! Before I can do any foreign publications though I have to study that particular county's copyright laws to find out when things fall into their public domain to make sure it is legal. I'm just starting to look into Canada's laws now. Thanks again for all the wonderful feedback and emails everyone! |
