Easy "Spindrier" washers did wash and spin laundry mechanically which was far more automatic than manual labour (wash board, beaters, brushes, wringer/mangle, etc...), so suppose we can give the Easy Corp a pass on that one.
Cannot be sure, and am sure others will know, but one assumes when the first Easy Spindrier units hit the market fully automatic washer/extractors hadn't yet been arrived for domestic use. |

. . . fully automatics for the most part had not, but the Daily Doctrine document dates to 1963, by which time fully automatics were the dominant domestic machines. It would have made more sense for Easy to have changed their strategy since the term "automatic" was not only over-used in their literature, but also not applicable since consumers by that time equated "automatic" with "fully automatic."
It has been pointed out by one Easy owner that their system allowed faster processing of laundry, since it offered the ability to wash another load simultaneously with spin drying the previous one. Perhaps if Easy had hyped this advantage over the fully automatic system they might have maintained a somewhat higher portion of home laundry market share for a little longer, as their "automatic" claim was likely considered misleading by many consumers.
