ok....heres the deal, my dryer (wich is my only dryer) has latey been getting to the point where im having to repatedley push the start center button to get it to start....but tonight after taking a soping wet load of colthes (of corase) out of the washer.....it wont start at all....=(....i need a new swich. but im not shure what the proper name for that part is, or if its still avilible...if i can get my hands on a new switch, it looks very str8 foward to replace (one of the major pros of having a vintage Maytag=)). i think that poor witch conrtol is just worn out....=(....any help would be apprecitaed

If you had to push to start repeadly before and now it won't do anything, does not sound like the start switch to me. Possibly the start winding in the motor is gone. This is just my opinion but i am sure others will chime in as to what the problem might be.

Non Starting DE606 Dryer

It could be the start SW but it usually isn't, the start SW on your dryer is the complete selector SW and is probably NLA and just a little involved to replace so I would do a little more investigation before replacing it, A dryer of this age probably needs a good going over if it is to get weekly use if you want it to remain trouble free.
