Out the dryer and put a new seal in behind the duct leading to the fan, the old one crumbled into dust, it was suprisingly clean, very little lint! |

Looks like '83 by that model number. And in very nice shape too. Why no money shot? Looks like a Dual-Action from the cap. I know you love the cleaning, do you do large enough loads to need dividing before drying to make smaller loads? Funny, the one agitator I've never used in a Kenmore is the Dual-Action from the belt drives. Neither standard nor large capacity, never had one. |

But no b-slaps today...too tired. Some of us are here in Long Beach in the advance of the wash-in and we have been working on machines all day --- fun but tiring.
The machine is indeed a 1983 model. This model was available until fall 1986. This is an early one with 00 in the end of the model number. There were four seventy-series machines in the 1983 belt-drive line and this one is the best of them. I think it is the most easily used as well as the other three models had only three water levels which I sometimes find the medium setting too low and ex high to be a waste of water. Five levels are great. Oddly this was a rare model as compared to the model below it which was their best seller for the 1980s. The next model up was an 80 series with infinite water levels and a porcelain top/lid. Enjoy it Hans! Gordon |
