I have a Kitchenaid Superba Varicycle.

The thing is awesome and has worked perfectly for the most part since before I was born.

A couple of days ago it stopped draining the water. It's not clogged because if I turn the timer to the correct point in the cycle it drains just as good as always.

It seems to be skipping this part of the cycle and will just fill with water to overflowing.

What can I do?

Timer problem most likely.

Sounds like a broken drain valve to me.  Hopefully STEVET can verify.

Thanks so far...

Timer or Broken Drain Valve

Do repairmen still work on these things?

C'mon up and take it off my hands

I mean, is this gonna be an easy fix, I mean doable, or should I sell it to chachp in AR and just get a new one?

Timer...

Is the timer advancing thru the cycle by itself? Have you tried any of the other cycles to see if the unit fails to drain? It may be in the program switch contacts since the drain contacts are always the same in the timer.

Sadly, you won't find anything available for it like the timer, though all the drain valves since the 15 thru the 20 series will work. The 90 degree unit you have in your machine was replaced by the straight thru designs of the 16 and up machines. Even the Hobart Commercial machines went to the Straight design which prevented nuisance clogging of the 90 degree design.

Check further and let us know.

Seriously, Make me an offer

Seriously, Make me an offer, chachp. The reason I say this is because I don't have the same love for this dishwasher that you do. I would just as soon keep this from you as I would keep a puppy from my daughter.

I am being serious. If you want to make a little trip up to Gallatin TN, I'll make it worth your while price wise.

I'll just take what I get and put it towards a new one.

my email is phelander@hotmail.com

Let's talk.
