Reluctantly, I am letting go of my matched set, mid-1970s vintage Frigidaire washer and electric dryer. They are white with woodgrain control panels (even though they look beige in the photo). This set was built like a tank, it has lasted 30+ years and has many more loads to go!

I have the set posted on Craigslist; you can see the listing and more photos by clicking on the link below. I'm posting them here because you guys have shared lots of info about them with me, and I would love to see them go to a good home.

Here are the details:

Washer: Works great. No rust in the drum. Center-cone agitator has a chip in one of the cones, but that does not affect its performance. Automatic detergent dispenser in agitator dispenses detergent at the bottom of the load, and the up-and-down agitator pulls the soap up to the top as it circulates the clothes. Select water temps/combinations, agitation, water level, wash cycle. Knobs are all original and working. No leaks. No rust or dents in the washer body; it's in excellent shape. Fill hoses and drain hose included.

Dryer: Has stopped heating; may need a heating element or just a sensor. Parts are available, and the dryer is simple to repair. No rust in the drum; fins are intact. Select air temp/drying time. Knobs are all original and working. Start button works. End of load buzzer works. Drum stops turning when door opens, as it is supposed to do. No rust or dents in the dryer body. Dryer vents out the back. Lint filter inside door for a cleaner look, plus it leaves the top of the dryer available for folding clothes. Cord/plug included.

This has been my daily use washer/dryer for the last eight years. I got them from the original owner, who bought them new and took great care of them. I have the owner's manual and instruction book for both units. I even have the original warranty punch-card. I also have a box of NOS parts for this model that I bought from an appliance dealer -- bearings, switches, washers, etc, -- everything you need to keep this set going for another 30 years.

Asking $125. We are in Springfield, MO. Buyer must load and haul. Easy ground-level access through garage. Cash only, no trades. Price is firm. Email me at dustycrown @ yahoo.com for more info.

FYI, there's an orangy-yellow shadow on the picture, but it's just from the lighting in the laundry room. There's no discoloration on the washer/dryer.
