Hi Guys.

Went into a local charity shop and spotted this item. There was no price on it but the nice lady said I could have it for £5 so decided to buy it.

It comes with the operating instructions and spin at 2850rpm.

Lovely machine

paul

Bloomin' heck! 5 quid!!!!!!

Absolute bargain and in excellent looking condition too.

Is it model 1006 or a 1005? If you can take a picture of the ratings plate, we can find out when it was made.

A really great find - congratulations!

Paul
p.s below is a page that is certain to make some people go to jelly! Shows the range to which your spinner belonged too. Enjoy!

Hi

Hi Guys.

Mike, yes its very quiet and really does spin well. Clothes are so dry when they come out. I dont think the lady in the charity shop knew what it was, and when she said £5, I just had to save her.

Paul, I will take a photo of the rating plate this week. I think its from 1971, but she is in really good condition. Just love the stainless steel lid. Would love to find a Hotpoint 1600 in a charity shop, I wish lol. Thanks for posting the information just love to see vintage machines in their prime.

Ah- my Hotpoint childhood.
the Supermatic with the distinctive black raised controls my very up to date neighbour used with Aerial... My dream machine.
the Countess my gran refused to use... so I did.
the 1504 I helped my Aunt drag across the kitchen... It had a cardboard back...I was always fascinated to watch the timeline move. Happy days.

Date code 26...

...equates to February 1972 and really in good condition that belies its 40 years vintage!

Finding a 1600 in a charity shop - I really wish someone would! Finding an accessable (i.e one not in Greece) 1600 or 1830 would be fantastic and fill in the major missing link in Hotpoint UK's preserved range.

We can but hope that one will surface.

Happy spin drying with your 1006.
Paul

Hi

Hi

Thanks for information on my Hotpoint spin dryer. Saying she is 40 she is in great condition, very well built.

I have tried her out and she really works well. So smooth and quiet and does not vibrate when speeding up. Just proves vintage appliances were built to last.

Cheers.

Paul
