It looks like a well built, nicely designed machine.

It's interesting to see that it has Cold - 30°C, 60°C and 90°C

Other manufactuers usually set 40°C as the cool wash in that era.

What is the spin speed?

When we lived in Spain we'd a very old 1980s machine that had a really slow spin. But, it was so warm in summer it really didn't matter. You just put the clothes out on the washing line in the balcony (which had external glazing) and the clothes would dry in no time!

I think...

... at the end of the 1970ies still the 30 degrees were standard for a cold wash. I wonder about the 90 degrees, because it used to be 95 the standard at that time, too... Cold wash was very unusual, by the way...

You still find clothes who state 30 degrees but nowadays you can choose from 15 or 20 degrees on extremely modern or special "eco" machines. BOSCH has one, I think...

That's a cool looking machine! Is that a second drawer on the right?

Thanks for comments!!!

I don't know exactly spin speed; I think it is 500 rpm.

You can see on the right not a second drawer but a "top filter": you can clean the filter from the top...

Wow, great machine, is this a washer or a washer dryer?? have never seen a pump filter up top like that, rather ingenious idea, does it filter the water all the time then??

Its interesting when you think all these brands with such diverse features and most have been reduced to a basic cheap throwaway machine these days!!

Congratulations, its a keeper for sure!!

Yes, it is in excellent condition, except for shock absorbers (they are too noisy). I hope I can repair it.

This is a vid. of a full load of cottons 60º. Enjoy it!!!

Amazing!

That is a hell of an interesting machines! And especially nice that we can see some of Fagor history here.

Really, really enjoying watching this thread.

P.S
Does the filter come back down easily when you want to return it? :)

Dani, congratulations on this wonderful vintage machine!  I like the videos.  Has the FAGOR surpassed your love of AEG?

Nice filter!
Very easy to access and the pause between tumbles gives the clothes a nice soaking!
And I do love that timer sound, great find!

Nrones: Filter come back very easily when I want to return it. It is a very confortable filter, and I don´t understand why they changed it.

FAGOR is a very important brand in Spain. In addition to it, it is the brand of our childhood. This is another model from 70's:

And this is the washer of my childhood: A Sigma (FAGOR) from 1971. You can imagine my emotion when I have found a so similar washer!!!

Is there somewhere a history of fagor group? Do they still produce washing machines in Spain?

Also, I wanted to ask you how was before and is the popularity of spanish brand Otsein?

I believe...

...Fagor is now a French brand because they assembled with Brandt (and Thomson) in France... Correct me if I am wrong...

Otsein was a very popular brand for years because they used to produce only top load machines. Otsein was assembled with Fagor before it were "otsein-Hoover", at least partially. Some Fagor and Otsein machines were very similar in 70's: Fagor produced front load machines and Otsein top load ones. Both were made in Mondragon factories, in the País Vasco, in the North of Spain.

Fagor is now a French brand because they assembled with Bran

It's the other way round, Brandt was acquired a few years ago and became part of the Spanish group.
