Today's doctrine is nothing but fabulous lol. I picked this up in an appliance store sometime in the mid 1970s when I was about 12. Maytag's advertising firm decided to take what it considered its best qualities and compared them to the other leading brands of washers.

While a bit biased obviously, I do consider some of it to be accurate. I also have the dryer and dishwasher comparison reports produced a few years later.

WP/KM

I enjoyed the read, I also like how they *painfully* conceded to some of WP/KM's advantages, but only that of a medium men's shirt. It is a good way I think to more-so to point out features of the Maytag as opposed to necessarily criticizing the other brands. They did however take the time to sort of slam GE for their clutch system even posting a photo of all the parts, which I thought was funny.

Thanks for posting!

Hi guys,

Is there a way to see all the daily doctrine, all at once, and pick the ones we want, or do we have to wait daily?

Also, will the ones from the past, re-surface eventually?

thanks,

I will definitely download this one when I get home from work! I'm amassing a nice little collection of brochures and manuals thanks to the Daily Doctrine Dispenser.

Maytag accuses Frigidaire's 1-18 of being one of the noisiest machines tested. TRUE, and of having a smaller tub than Maytag's. That can't be right. Do you know for sure?

I read only to page 8. I have to get up or I'll never get anything done.Surprised

Can't you institute a buzzer to prevent me from downloading till night time. Laughing

Frigidaire Tub

I can only wonder about that. I wonder if the paddle-less agitator gives the illusion of a larger tub?

I do agree that it certainly looks bigger than a Maytag tub.

Hi Steve, there is no way to see any future daily doctrine, that you do have to wait daily to see. Some if it is scanned the day before anyways, so there is really no way to know what is going to come up over time. Some of the ones from the past will resurface, but not all of them, it just depends on how popular they were during there three days in the limelight so to speak.

Before I start removing documents from the server I am planning on doing a doctrine review day which will allow you to view all the previous doctrine up to that day and download anyone that you might have missed but wanted. This will however only last for one day, so please keep a look out for a note about the scheduled date. Just know I'm planning on doing this real soon, possibly within a week, I just have to get the software/program code written for it.

and of having a smaller tub than Maytag's
I seriously doubt that, but I don't have a 1/18 to do a formal test. The 806 we have certainly has a smaller capacity than my 1964 20lb Wards.

BUZZ, there did that work mikey? ;-D

That was only rated at 14 pounds. Our Norge Dispensomat model purchased the December of when that Monkey Wards was bought by my neighbor, had NORGE15 in bold lettering on the dashboard of the console.

The 1/18 used during the Fall 2006 Texas Wash-in held far more of my towels than the Lady Shredmore and that holds more than an 806.

I look forward to the dryer and dishwsasher produced a few years later.

I want to be sure to "save the date" for the Doctrine review. Please post your announcement all over the website, Robert. I may even see if I can get it announced on the CBS Evening News, LOL!

This one is really great. I wish the washers of these days were made like them all. I personally feel they all had their pros and cons. I don't think anyone of them could have beat the cleaning performance of the 1/18 and I think it was the largest capacity next to norge. I did agree about the fabric softner dispenser on the 1/18 as it was a hassel and the maytag had the best design for the softner dispenser of that time. What I didnt like about the MT of that time is they had the shortest wash time 10 minutes. It really didnt move the clothes that swiftly for such a short wash time. True MT was the quitest of the time - but I would still take the noisy 1/18 for better cleaning performance and better action!
I think it would be great if everyone did their own conparinsons.
Peter
