I always served good food!
( When he arrived, Robert was terrified we'd have 4 eyes and would bite!) Stephen Whatshisname saw a good thing and knew better. This post was last edited 05/24/2012 at 07:11 |

Gee thanks for posting these pictures Jon I have the originals and have been threatening to blackmail Robert with a few of those for years LOL I guess I will have to think of other ways to fund my retirement now.
Yes those were good times out on the Cape, Michael was my first partner of almost 21 years, I talked to him yesterday and he is enjoying retirement. About 6 months ago I pulled out this huge box of pictures and Michael spent weeks going through them and digitizing them. I think that I have a few of you from this time period that could show up here, LOL. |

Ugh those pictures lol, I don't think I've ever seen them. I have posted the ones I have in another thread about our history, oh how I remember that wash in well. My Boyfriend at the time Stephen and I figured if we got to Boston and Jon Charles was some sort of crazy freak we'd simply find a hotel, well we decided to stay after all! He seemed like a safe freak :-) CLICK HERE TO GO TO Unimatic1140's LINK |

Robert had found us on the early washer site over at Yahoo that Jeff set up and is still running. We talked on the phone and I talked him into coming out. He and Stephen Whatshisname made hotel reservations as they were scared we might be weird!Well they were right about that, but when they got here they threw in the towel, cancelled the reservation and stayed with me.
Poor little Prairie Deers! Cal is working on a history of the club for us. |

That Yahoo site didn't get started for more than two years after these pictures were taken. No one had hardly heard of the internet '97. I met Gary Weibel at a party who was friends with my boyfriend's brother in the fall of 1996. Gary knew John Lefever through Chuck's People magazine story. Gary and I became friends and we made the trip in Feb '97 to Cleveland to Bob Salem's house where I first met John combo52, Tomtubomatic and Bob Salem. John suggested that I call and chat with Jon and the rest is history. This post was last edited 05/24/2012 at 14:00 |

oh I wonder what else will come forth with the scanning and editing of vintage footage....the years have moved on but the hobby continues thankfully...
Pity Bob Salem isnt on here, another wealth of information, and was great to see his collection @ the Hoover 100th, did enjoy his Westinghouse FL with the home made added sudsaver and watching his new Speed Queen, I have some footage of that somewhere with me and Terry sat in front of it for the full cycle!! |

I have been to Grays Appliance in Melrose and the parts guys was nice there....the salesguy is another story...total idiot/ When I was dealing with the fridge debacle we decided to go to Grays and see what they had. Scott's sister raves about them and their service. So we get there and the guy is asking us what we want in a fridge and I told him what we were going thru with Whirlpool and that they just keep sending shelves and that they wont refund out money on the defective fridge.
So I asked about an American built fridge and he had no clue. Then he says to me " well fridges today are made in Mexico by American workers." I gave him a look and said to him him very matter of factly..."Thats the stupidest thing I ever heard."Then I was looking at the gas stoves and he had no clue at all. He said men dont cook and that it should be a womans job. I looked at him and said well I love to cook and I am the cook. Moron. We walked out of there. |

Awhile back they experimented with putting some of the repair guys on the sales floor but I have noticed that policy has ended, maybe it was then this happened?
They are nice intelligent people,I've known them 20 years, that is behavior I've never seen from any of them towards a customer. They are also one of my oldest customers I have done their embroidery for 20 years so I know them on both sides of the transactions. |
