So, I was wondering about different brands of washers and who did and didn't have a logo or verbiage on their agitator cap. Thoughts?

Malcolm

Logos

First thing that comes to mind when you talk about logos on agitator caps would of course be Whirlpool and Kenmore!

There is also Philco Ford's Flex-A-Wash agitator and GE Activator, Frigidaire's Jet Cone Agitator,...

Don't know if this counts, but Kelvinators had 4 raised wings or vanes on the red caps at one time.

Can't remember any graphics on Maytags but I haven't seen any of the newer ones.

Maytags without a softner dispenser on top of the agitator, but had the filter cartridge, seemed to have a wide metal cap with the logo Maytag on it. I've seen a couple around here. Tim?? Doesn't one of your recently acquired maytags have this?

Not hard to make a liar out of me. Looking back, the only Maytags I knew personally were from the 70s.

Who Didn't?

I was trying to remember the brands that may have never had anything on their agitator tops.

1) Norge?
2) Speed Queen?
3) Amana?
4) F&P?

The early black bakelite Westinghouse agitators had a big "W" on the cap.

Kenmore had a few with their names on them....mainly the cap, as in PentaVane, Penta-Swirl, Vari-Flex, and of course the Dual-Action....I think the best was the Super Roto-Swirl with the name embossed at the skirt of the agitator...

Whirlpool of couse always had the big "W" and the swirl on their cap, and "Surgilator" imprinted....some were SUPER, and Double-Duty

GE used "Activator" for all of theirs....didn't matter if it was 3 or 4 vanes, straight or swirled/ramped.....

even emblems on the front panel of machines, just made them stand out, the little details made the machine.......

Speed Queen had their "Q"
Westinghouse had their "W" with Heavy Duty
Maytags even had one for a while.....

were there any others?

Ironically....

The older Inglis washers have a 'W' embossed on the agitator cap (they were Whirlpool clones).   I don't think they actually put the Inglis name on the caps until the late 60s or even the early 70s....
