Drying a large, single item - a couch cover - through my new Siemens dryer. Will it tangle?

If it is the heat-pump dryer...

... it is likely that it will tangle but this happens mostly with thinner fabrics like bed sheets. A bigger item like a woolen blanket does not make any problems in our BOSCH EcoLogixx 7...

our siemens IQ700 heatpump dryer doesnt tangle anything, its pretty good but its not as gentle on fabrics, the zanussi is gentle on fabrics, just a shame that the zanussi is C energy raited :(

Why did they got rid of the ability to change directions? I think the only way to prevent tangling is to turn the drum in both way evenly as a washer does. Any thoughts about that?

I wonder that as well. Most loads are no problem - just some items. Will do bedding this weekend...

I wrote to BOSCH concerning that matter

It is simply to prevent the motor from damage. They don't offer reversing dryers for many, many years and I don't think they will change it in the near future though other brands of course do the directional change...

Is this Siemens a heat-pump dryer?

Non-reversing dryers are crap... As I've said before, with some items you will get a big "ball" or "Wäschekloß" as BOSCH calls it. They recommend to dry different items in one load... E.g. towels with bedding cloths... No other brand offers only uni-directional dryers so we've decided to never buy a BSHG appliance again...

No, it's a regular condenser model. Electricity and water is included in the rent so we can (basically) us as much as we want. :)

Another thing on the non-reversing issue

They've made it that way because it saves energy and so it meets the "B" rating because changing directions would use an extra of electricity...
