Hey Guys: I have purchased a dryer in the Tucson area and need to get it shipped to North Carolina. I was wondering if anyone knew of a shipper with "reasonable" rates.
I got a quote from "Craters & Freighters" but I thought it was on the high side. Maybe there is someone with a truck that might be coming this way sometime this Summer. I'm not in a hurry to have this delivered so time is not a factor. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks !!!!
Bob

Had good luck with UShip

I've had a few appliances shipped across the country and used UShip. Different shippers will "bid" the job. Just wait it out for a while. Some of the early bids I received were high, but then a couple came in much lower. Each were similar scenarios as you described, someone with a truck already making a shipment from a nearby location or on the way. Great prices I thought. You can read their rating experience by other users before accepting a particular shipper. After accepting a bid, you will have direct communication ability with the shipper which has always been great. They took magnificent care of my items and delivered on time.

I and a few others here have used U-Crate for shipping appliances as well, very reasonable and good service.  They drop off a pallet sized crate - 40" cube with a plastic-tarp cover, the item is placed inside and they pick it up and deliver it to your driveway and then you take the (dryer) out and they take the cube away.  Easy!
