Can you use spin dryers for rinsing clothes? What would be better a gravity drain or drain hose spinner?

A friend of mine had the Hotpoint autopump one and it leaked all the over the kitchen and needless to say is kapoot! Are the gravity drain ones then no good for rinsing? Last thing i want to do is waste money.

i have a gravity drain white knight model, you can well, sort of rinse with it, the rinse water comes out of the drainage spout, look on ebay for the auto pump white knight models, also, if you go for a white knight spinner go for the german made model like mine :)

Modern Spin Dryers

Are too fast for effective "spin" rinsing IMHO as the water most likely would bounce right off the wash and otherwise go right down the drain.

Unless designed for rinsing there is also the chance you can shag out the motor by repeatedly spinning heavy wet laundry.

OTHO you can swish wash around in a deep container (sink, wash tub, tub, etc..) of clean water then place into the spin dryer, or rinse in a front loader without interim spin cycles, then bung into the SD. Will often do one or the other for loads that one knows will not balance well enough to spin in the Miele.

Will someone please contact laundress, I think her account has been hacked..!! One would never use such language one thinks!!...Lol

If serious about rinsing then you need one with a pump, many models with a spout have only a lipped area around the base of the unit and are not sealed so if overfilled water will pour out of the base.....the pumped models are usually sealed and so all water goes to the pump and out, even so slowly pouring a bucket of water or using a hose can still leave detergent spots unless you re-distribute the clothes!!
