I'm selling my '57 Control Tower Dryer and was wondering if anyone on the site would be interested in having it. I have finally gotten the '56 up and running and only have outlets for 2 electric dryers. You can contact me via my E-Mail address which is: borear25@gmail.com for details. I have pics that I can send also. Thanks !!!!
Bob

Congratulations on your DI56!

You realize that the 56 Imperial Filtrator does not have a "no heat" setting. I believe the DCI57 does, although I could not swear to it now. I had fuzzy logic circuits in my brain long before the computer world. Anyway, make sure of what you are giving up before losing it.

VERY IMPORTANT!! If you have the gray front plate out of the 56 dryer, the part with the rollers on it, NEVER allow the door to shut. It will break the door switch.

Hey Tom:

Tom: I posted pics of the '56 dryer on Thread 40810 - It is the only one like it I have ever seen.

Tom,

There's no such thing as a DCI-57. TOL was the Imperial line that year. And the DI-57 doesn't have a "no heat" setting either (at least, my DIC-57 doesn't), unless you set the timer to less than 5 minutes (which is the cool down period).

Sorry, Phil. Please refer to my statement about fuzzy brain circuits. They affect my typing also. The 58 washer and dryer in our collection represent the first of the Custom Imperial models in the Frigidaire line-up. I don't think we have anything else from Frigidaire from 1958. That would make the DCI58 their first dryer to offer a no heat setting on the infinite heat selector.
