Recently, Paul posted an ad for a 1974 Frigidaire dishwasher that wasn't working. I decided to get it anyway and with the help of SteveD who gave me the parts it needed, I was able to fix it.
The timer motor was still running but the ratcheting pawls were stuck in dried grease so it wouldn't advance. That was an easy fix but the dishwasher had probably run too long without water because of the stuck timer so the plastic hub for the wash impeller melted and the retaining screw broke... The drain pump was still fine but it wouldn't wash. Here are the brand new parts that Steve gave me. He also got me quite a few other interesting parts, including a small items basket for it (which was available separately on this model). |
