Recently, Paul posted an ad for a 1974 Frigidaire dishwasher that wasn't working. I decided to get it anyway and with the help of SteveD who gave me the parts it needed, I was able to fix it.

The timer motor was still running but the ratcheting pawls were stuck in dried grease so it wouldn't advance. That was an easy fix but the dishwasher had probably run too long without water because of the stuck timer so the plastic hub for the wash impeller melted and the retaining screw broke... The drain pump was still fine but it wouldn't wash.

Here are the brand new parts that Steve gave me. He also got me quite a few other interesting parts, including a small items basket for it (which was available separately on this model).

How are you able to do one post with multiple pictures and text in between them?

Great job Phil!  I wish I had taken a photo of your face when Steve handed you the impeller parts - talk about a kid at Christmas... LOL

Glad you were able to save this - it looks good next to its older cousin, too!

And both of these dishwashers are linked to you and Steve! Without both of you, I would have neither!

Hey Phil,

I see your illness ( FRIGIDAIRE-ITUS ) has gotten worse. I think you may need some Supersurge therapy! LOL.Great pix! I always liked the 7 bladed stainless steel pulverizers!

Laughing

I'd like to think I'm almost done but I still hope to get a just a few other machines... I just hope that the disease won't spread to accumulating stuff from other brands too!
