Just a few pictures of the new Hotpoint Experience range which includes Washing Machines, Tumble Dryers & Cookers. The first picture is of a WMEF702 7kg, 1000 spin machine which has a 3 phase super silent induction motor, This is a first for me because i have never come across a Hotpoint 1000rpm machine with a super silent motor on it.

These new Hotpoint ranges are pretty good

Are they actually going to replace the Aquarius & Ultima names though, it seems like it with the launch of Futura, Style & now Experience ranges.
The new models seem pretty good and the washing machine has another quite good selection of programmes. What shop were these taken at?
Also its good to see they finally launching a Vented dryer with Timer with a Glass door, to replace that plastic one, didn't think the plastic would last that long!!

I really like the new range of Hotpoint's but I did scoff at the 1000rpm spin for such a modern machine. However I did remember when that spin speed was unheard of on most F/L when I was growing up, unless of course you were lucky enough to have a Hotpoint 1600. I am of course talking about before Hoover introduced their 1100rpm machines. My relatives had to contend with 360rpm or 380rpm machines. I remember when my aunt got an Indesit that spun at 800rpm and she was over the moon!! (no pun intended)

I guess that the last reference to hotpoint old with the aquarius name is on it's way out?

Mat,

The new Experience range have been introduced for the Independent Retail Sector only, just like the Futura range for the likes of Currys & Comet. The pictures were taken at my place of work.

1000 rpm machine

Consider where those washers are made!
If you exclude mountain and remote areas Italy usually has a milder climate than rest of Europe and spin speed was never an issue. Summer is torrid all over and even in the deep north and Alps laundy dries reasonably fast. Indeed with my miserable Whirlpool spinning only at 800 rpm I hung up (outside) laundry at midnight after coming home ad at 5:30 it was already bone dry!
In winter it isn't much different if I hang it inside.

In the south it's even better (or worse depending on heat) even with our very old 400 rpm Antonio Merloni made machine laundry was dry in summer in less than 3 hours and in winter it took all morning and by mid day was ready. Now with the new Candy at 1200 rpm one can't finish hanging that thinner items are ready and even in winter nothing takes more than an hour or so because of the high winds we have there in Salento.

@Optima

That explains it! I am so glad that at the moment Aquarius is not on the way out!!
After Looking around I couldn't find any info or any shops selling the Experience, other than Experience Ovens, so I will keep looking, I bet one of my Local Independent retailers will get one soon!
I can see them rolling out that programme choice to other machines though! Seems slightly better than the Aquarius & Aquarius+ by that I mean a 20C cycle also available instead of just cold.

90°

So no boilwash? That machine would be so out, I never would consider to buy it.

Mrwash

There is a boilwash, You select it via the display, cottons 60 programme. Press the temp button several times, until 90C is displayed.

Very odd that there is a Cottons standard 60 degrees and a Cottons standard 40 degrees cycle while there is a separate temperature control. Why not just mention the cycle without the temperature. Rather confusing!

Great Machines Though!!

Hi Craig, great range for the Independants, makes selling so much easier than competing with the big boys!!!, Do they do the washer in a faster spin speed??, I was always surprised how many 5kg, 1000rpm still sell to the "Mature Greys"...

The beauty of these washers is Variable Time, Variable Temp and Variable spin - or simply dial the programme - total control!!

Well Mike,

If i wasn't so much into vintage Washing Machines i would definitely have one of these new Experience Hotpoints. I'm still in a state of shock regarding this slower 1000 spin machine having an induction motor fitted to it. We also have a 1200 spin version & a 1400 spin due in tomorrow.

I suggest you stick with the vintage stuff, at least you can repair them. One of the reasons I wanted to get out of the appliance repair trade was the increasing number of jobs that turned out not to be jobs i.e. beyond economic repair. I would not buy any new machine unless the shop let me take the lid off to see whether it's a welded together tub or one that can have the bearings changed.

I am going to have to start popping into more independents now, to pick up some brochures for these exclusives! Thats assuming some future reference material is being produced for them?

Hotpoint certainly are busy at the moment, with all these new ranges and models.

Have to agree with the general consensus - 'bloomin' heck!' - '1000rpm' - 'haven't seen one of them for ages' :-)
and yet, twenty years ago, 800 and 1000rpm were still the dominant forces, with 1200rpm creeping in and only the top of a very few ranges squeezing out 1300 and 1400rpm!

How times have changed.
Paul

Manuals/Instructions for use

I think matchboxpaul they will have manuals in the machines, and I presume the manuals will be added to the website soon, however I was told by Hotpoint directly, when I emailed them about the Exclusive "Futura" line - exclusive to Comet & Curry's - they said they wouldn't be included in the Brochure or on the main section of the website, under Appliances --> washing machines, as they don't want to have lots of sales for them?
But maybe independent retailers will have brochures for them, Optima can answer this!!

1000rpm spin

I think there are still people out there with old Hotpoints - which have 1000rpm, 800rpm, and I think they would be happy to buy a new one with 1000rpm if they had little knowledge about 1600rpm ones being available.
One of my dad's Uncles had 1000rpm machine, when it died they purchased another 1000rpm machine, as they weren't aware anything faster was available, and said 1000rpm does the job!
Also there isn't much different in terms of how dry laundry comes out between 1000, 1100, 1200 models anyway. (or is there?)

With the old small drum Hotpoint 95 / WM models, the 1000 spin version was more reliable than the 1200, which tended to shake itself to bits. My current Servis 1500 machine does not get stuff as dry as the various Hotpoint 1000 models I used to recondition.

Like always with Indesit Company we tend to get the appliances in long before any brochures are available. We had a new Experience washer delivered to us yesterday & it was badly damaged so we telephoned Indesit Company only to be told that they still haven't got the new models on their computer systems, surely that should be the first thing they should have done before shipping their goods out.

In a matching colour, obviously!

I like the dryer, what sort of price would the dryer be in an independant store like your own?

Best wishes
