Take a look inside the drum with a torch and see if you can locate whats stuck inside ! If you can find it and it is most likely to be a sock around the heater try and work it toward the sump where you can remove the sump hose and with a little luck you should be able to hook the thing out. All this without taking the drum apart.
Hope this helps. Austin |

its not a sock... i sounds like a braclet or necklace by the noise of it... i also thing it may be caught around the element or underside of thr fins... i will remove the sump during the week and see but i doubt it can be saved i reckon sad as i am to say it, it may be time to wave bye bye to the hotpoint... shame if so as its a brilliant machine and gets a lot of use.

I would do what Andy has said above.
I replaced a heating element on my aunts Hotpoint WMA 58 and found an ankle sock stuck in the drum, I removed this by using pliers. I could have also removed it from the sump which I opened at the same time to clean. Hope you can sort it out, best of luck with what you decide to do. |
