Yes both valves only water out its the only way I could think of doing it !
I will have to find the Serial number but yes its cream, I have a MK1 now as well I am working on which is mostly white with a retro green panel just like the one you have, But its going to be sprayed white along with the casing as I wanted an all white one as that was what my Mums was. Lance if you want it done to yours I can do so very easily and Hmm thank you ever so for the Hoovermatic :) Not told himself yet I have some more coming lol will have to do some thinning out ! Its made to hold the filler hose as it has the same shape fixing as the spin rinse, I assume its just for making it possible to close the lid of the wash tub while you fill it. Never used it myself apart from to store the 2nd hose before conversion.
Maybe our Mike can shed more light on it than I ? Austin |

It would be better if you could find some plain rubber hose rather than the ribbed stuff, which is really meant to have rubber cuffs at the ends. |

Dear All,
Does anyone know any good rubber restorer ? I have a Servis twinline hose in store but every year that goes by it is getting weaker and weaker, I have been using "Son of a gun" silicone spray restorer but just wondered if international friends have good experience with any other products ?? Cheers Keith |

I will measure them for you but it may take a while as they are in the back of the half renovated shed. I do remember purchasing the one way valves from a boat chandler and they have graduations on them to fit all sizes, as for the Y piece it was from eBay I will see what I can find out for you.
Austin Keith I too used son of a gun applied liberally and put the pipe in a plastic bag to allow absorption of said product its stopping further disintegration but its not on the machine yet ! |

I would say they need a good oiling including the pump as its sounding like its been dry for some time. If you can get at the bearings easily enough drop some oil in them see if it helps...
I would turn the whole thing upside down and run oil down the spinner shaft and yes ok the bearings may want replacing but its not as bad as some I have encountered. Keep us posted. Austin |

Hi Adam I have posted all my replies to you same as I have this one !!
I believe there is a breather hole but it should not be too hard to locate and stop it up. Have not encountered any major leaking of oil when I have turned mine over I don't leave it too long just enough to oil the moving parts I cannot get at normally ! Austin |

Easily able to get to the pump bearing although I had a bit of an issue getting to the main spin bearing as it is underneath a dome/cup shaped pulley So what should I do in regard to that? |

You could if you felt brave enough remove the spin pulley to allow you to get to the bearing, Or spray it with aerosol oil which may help but won't be as long lasting. If you are going to remove the dome pulley put the machine on its side so as to prevent oil spillage from the gearbox when you have it removed you can up end it to oil it.

You might want to leave that as long as you can because trust me its not an easy fix, It can be done but you need the right bearings and a new seal and a lot of hard work, you have to remove the wash deck as the spin can only comes out the top. I and a few other have done it and its a long hard slog. Getting the new parts will be a beast of a job too.
