hi all,
recently just got a hotpoint 9534. didnt have a plug on it or a cable, so wired that up.
then i tested it.. and i found a fault.
-in the wash/rinse cycles, it just fills endlessly and wont tumble.
-when it comes to spin cycles.. it literally just spins straight at 1000 straight away and wont distribute or anything.

Philip told me to check the connections underneath to ensure they were all in place and i did, then it didnt make a difference to the washing and rinsing but the spin cycle was fine.
unfortunately the spin started to lose power and started only spinning at about the speed of a bosch when just starting.
i then unplugged it and tried the connections again.. and when i turned it back on i was right back where i started!!

anyone have any ideas as to the fault? please?!!

Try cleaning out the pressure switch bottle and tube, It should then tumble when full.

Would say the triac is open circuit, attached to the heat sink of the module. The overfilling i would say is a blocked pressure chamber

on the electronic pcb, there is a little 3 legged device (triac) that is either clipped or screwed to the heat sink (the metal shell) This allows the correct supply to feed / regulate the motor speed.

the over filling could be the solinoid, im not too sure but its worth checking :)

Of the three pins and the metal plate, you should get a circuit between the two outer pins, and nothing between the outer pins to the middle pin / metal plate. You should also get a reading from the middle pin to the plate, and again nothing to the outer pins. To do this you would need to unsolder the triac, and measure using an ohms range on a meter.
Failing that replace the module.

it turned out to be a loose wire to the motor.

Probably a tacho coil wire. What about the over-filling?
