It's a mechanical digital clock (kjind of like the digital clocks on overns and microwaves that were numerical display but mechanical. This has that funky D&M dishrack arrangement. Have only seen one other of these. I believe Greg (gansky1) had a similar brand of its D&M cousins at one time in his dishwasher owning hjistory.

Bob wins! LOL I did have a D&M built Roper in this house when we bought it in '98. We used it for a couple of years, washed well and was relatively quiet. That lower rack was dumb. You can see from the pics in the listing that instead of one silly raised section over the tower-wash system, like a GE, this one had two - for no good reason. The flatware basket all along the right side took up most of the real estate leaving only narrow strips for larger items in the lower rack. Dumb. This seemed to be D&M's last or nearly last design, sort of a "eh, whatever" attempt before they got swallowed up by WCI.
