Hello all,

New member and first time poster here. Really enjoy the discussions and info to be found here. I recently aqcuired a 58 GE dishwasher (under cabinet model) and would like to find a user manual for it. Or even a copy of one. Any chance someone here might have one?

Ken K.

Subtle hint:

bajaespuma's profile picture

It's really amazing what can happen when you post pictures (lots of pictures, interior, exterior, parts, rating plates, etc.) of a dishwasher like yours on a thread like this. Really amazing.

This should have been a Daily Doctrine entry, but I don't have the original. This was sent to me by some other very kind member, I'm betting someone from Ohio, but I can't remember.

OK, I have to go meet somebody for dinner, you have enough to run your first load. When I get back, I'll post the other half of the manual that covers all the possible problems and maintenance stuff. Here's page 11 and I'll be back later:

Thank you Paul. I remembered Mr. Droplet, but had forgotten his first name. Our manual did not feature a princess, but I read it out loud and my mother was alive so that was almost the same thing.

Ken,

Many thanks for the booklet images. What year model would it pertain to? Im sure most info in it would also cover mine even though it's a little older.

Mine has a large handle to lock the lid in place and the control knob is located in the face of the door. I'll post some pictures of it this weekend.

Ken

Added a link to a picture that shows the model I have.

Very nice!!  Turquoisedud just had a stroke.  He does have the same dishwasher in his kitchen.  He can probably tell you a lot more about it.

Ken,

Dating your 1SU60N can be found in the first four digits of the Serial Number.

5624 equates to the 24th week of 1956, which would be June 11-15, 1956.

I just love the beautiful Robin's Egg Blue Tub interior. In my opinion, it is the most striking of all of the tub colors that G.E. used.

I too have a 1SU60N in my collection, built just two weeks before yours (5622).

I have a poorly scanned copy of the Operating Instructions booklet for the 1SU60N, but I am concerned that the image quality will degrade if I scan this copy. I will try to find who has the original and get it scanned properly to get to you.

I hope you will enjoy this great dishwasher.

Mike

Thanks for the info

Mike,

Thanks for the info. I figured the 56 in the serial # stood for 1956 but wasn't 100% sure as I know the turquoise GE fridge, Caloric wall oven & cook top and single basin turquoise sink I got along with the DW are definitely from 1958. So I figured the DW was from 58 too as it would make sense that all the pieces were purchased at the same time.

BTW...I have no need for the wall oven, cook top or sink. I took them only because I wanted to save them from being scrapped. I figured someone might have use for them. If so let me know. Best offer takes them. They are all in nice shape. The sink cleaned up real nice. Have the Hudee ring and clips for it. The wall oven and cook top are chrome. They are currently set up for natural gas. I'll post some pictures soon.

Ken
