Hi All,
I'm in the process of shipping to me, a parted out KDS-19 dishwasher that needs at least some repair parts, one of which is the motor pump seal that the seller still has and said was the cause of the leak.

1. On further inspection of the lower pump housing, I noticed the crack and mineral deposits around it and warping of the lower flange.

2. Does anyone have a service manual for this model Kitchenaid and also a parts number listing?
I had downloaded a parts listing sometime ago, but I'm seeing some 41***** numbers being listed elsewhere online for Kitchenaid parts that look exactly like mine- for example is part# 4162724 an updated part number for spray arm support c-115685?
and is there an updated part# for Lower pump housing #E-115468??
Is this a common occurance with this model or did someone torque the bolts too much? Can I get away trying to repair this with JB weld or should I source a new replacement part?

SSHHHHHH!!! Do you see it....There's BLOOD in the water!

Thanks GSD-DAN for the fast link to the wash arm.
Unfortunately the Seller doesn't ship to where I am, and ebay prevented me from sending a message to him asking for an exception.

and while I was asking a friend to bid on it as he has a US address, this little

Pirana with the velcro FIN #16 sneaks up and GOBBLES up the part!

GGGGRRRRRRR!!!

strange though, the seller had 2 part#'s on the auction listing-one for 16, 17 and the other for 18,19,20

GGRRRRR!!!!

even stranger is that the older 16,17 part is still available, while the newer part seems to be NLA

GGGRRRRRRRR!!!!

where's my speargun..better yet a bangstick

so I'm back to the starting line..

Darn, I would have snagged it for you and shipped it your way, if I knew about the drama a head of time.

I still have the upper and lower supports from my KDS-18 if you need one to keep your 19 going until a nicer or NOS one comes along. It worked fine, but I installed a new one I had kicking around while replacing the impeller and seals as preventative maintenance. It's original to the machine and has a couple hundred thousand miles on it, but still functioned fine, as the vid below shows. Shoot me an email if you're interested.

OK, I'll take a definite raincheck on THAT offer! give m

Saturday, today, i will call two last minute web finds after doing a serious google search yesterday.
I found 2 parts with the right price, online payment accepted and IN-stock as one seller emailed and confirmed he has it, so if the sticking point (which would be shipping) falls through and the deal goes south,I'll shoot you an email for your part.
But I will still send an email since the both of you have or had the same model, cause I still need the wiring schematic and/or repair manual for the 19. I am looking at the 17 DDD schematic for now as it is supposed to be similar with obvious differences in the heating area. Was also looking at what stevet did to improve his own in the archives -very, very interesting work there too.
If any of you could remember if the wiring schematic was inside the door panel or located somewhere else on the machine??
If it is stuck to the inner door, would it be possible to take some photos of it and email me with them??
The tub/door, wire harness and frame shown in the 1st pic is still at the seller as there're getting a new DW later in the year and when that is installed then I get the remaining parts shown as it conceals the big Hole. No biggie there as I'm still working out a way to ship it to me $$$-wise.

I saw the video in the link plus the others by generalOne about 2 months ago. very cool vids-is that the reason why it's coined 'hurricane in a box'?
The absence of a powerful light in the tub, really made it look tropical stormy.
The picture ad you posted, the SS front panel mod which beekeeknee or dishwashercrazy did? plus the mods stevet was doing and the Hobart front panel fascia were what finally sold me on the 19 than did the others, so when this one showed up I jumped on it.
-like a pirana -lol

Yup, behind the door panel. Yours should still be there. Kitchenaid used some really good quality glue to stick 'em, so they don't remove easily at all.

I can remove the door panel on my 19 take a pic of the schematic if yours has mysteriously disappeared.

emailing qsd-dan -let's discuss it

QSd-dan the two shippers have the item in question-NIB-NICE prices-online payment accepted but don't ship out USA (too many customs delays) called them both today.
I'm sending you an email after this post to see how we can work out shipping.
I'll also take up your generous offer on the pic of your wiring schematic, as the seller sent me pics of the owners manual and pages inside but no schematic.
I have no idea what the squiggly lines??? are in the dispenser drawer opening

The schematic is accessed by removing the front door panel. Won't find it by removing the detergent dispenser or rinse aid dispenser. It's glued to the inner door.

Got your email. Replying right now.

kds-19 motor seal kit arrives

Ok Dan,
got your email so included the packaging plastic. If it's not the original-'better' Hobart kit then can you post the Hobart part# I should be looking for?

I saw these conical washers in the kit which i dont have on the used wash arm (that one has 2 sets of 3 flat metal shims )at 2 places for the whole motor assembly-are those the shims you were referring to?
does the thicker one go at the bottom of the 'set' and the thinnest at the top?

and i use a product on my washer overhauls called 'plumbers grease' it's reddish in colour in a flat metal tin to lubricate the seals prior to installation, can i use that or is the soap solution the better option?

That looks like the Whirlpool replacement kit. The Hobart replacement kit is 435102 and is still available through Hobart. If yours doesn't come with any instructions, you may want to contact stevet, our reisdent Hobart expert, to help you out.

I sent you some wiring diagram pics through your email. Hopefully those will be helpful.

Keep us posted!
