My friend has a Norgetag, model# PAV3360AWW. The pump failed, the bearings were shot, even the drive shaft was a bit bent. The machine spilled all of its water after the hose was pulled from the tub. I have a new pump, belt, and hose, and it looks like its pretty much a plug and play with the pump, but I don't know how the belt tension is regulated. Does the motor have to be loosened, and re-set, or is it tensioned by a spring? I haven't taken anything besides the small access panel off the back, but I want to make sure that this isn't beyond my skill level before I begin.

Yes the belt is self tensioning and you may not even need a new belt, these washers are easy on belts, in fact the belt will usually outlast a couple of Norge washers. If the belt is badly damaged because the pump finally sized take a good look at the motor pulley, the MP is plastic on most of the later Norge-tags and is not replaceable, you might need a motor. |
