controls

in true apartheid era style, the controls are in english and afrikaans. from left to right: pause/restart, wash function (wash, rinse, drain), wash action (heavy, normal, gentle), wash time (2,5,7,10,15 mins) and spin time (15 secs, 1,3,5 mins)

@Nathan
How does the panasonic perform? Do you get good results? Is it a machine you would recommend?

@AutoWasherFreak the repair man is fetching her today. twinnies and old machines are popular here and generic pumps widely available. My mom and I aren't twinnie fans but I buy and sell (and often refurbish) washers and dryers so I couldn't say no to a free machine. Depending what it costs to fix, I'll keep it for the dogs blankets and bird cage towels as we already have 2 daily drivers (a samsung 13kg top loader and LG 7kg dd front load)
Will keep everyone posted on performance once she's fixed up!

I used a Hoover Twin Tub for almost years. It was fine for myself, and it was better than walking up and down four flights of stairs. I had the Hoover dryer too, the washer was harvest gold, and the dryer was avocado green. The pump went out on the washer, and I sold the dryer to friend.
