Nice square door, is this a bolted down model?

Can one of you British friends tell us why "TRIO?" What three things does it do?

I see there's no price mentioned in that advert. I suppose it was like the Rolls Royce cars, if you have to ask the price you can't afford it! I certainly didn't know you could buy a washer dryer in 1952. I wander what the rectangular panel below the door is for?

1952?

Nope - 1962! At that time the cost was £141/15/- this compares with £120 for the Hoover Keymatic 3224 and English Electric Liberator, although as Mike says this is a tumble drier as well.

Close up of the control panel at the bottom of the page from Which, August 1962

Painful Memories

Awwww i picked up one of these and left it outside my front door with the intention of giving it to chestermike, then a sharp eyed scrap metal dealer noticed it and took it presuming it to be junk!!! the bastard!....ah well the only satisfaction is that he might have pulled his back moving it coz it weighed a ton, the first sack truck i loaded it on collapsed under its weight.

Ah well it would have been a massive restoration job
