Local Neptune pair - 8 years old - electronic touch controls.  Owner asking $350 - are they worth it or what would you offer.

  • Blue discoloration/streaks inside dryer drum - likely from drying jeans not color set - can it be cleaned or does it require otherwise?
  • When Neptune washer is empty, is it normal to hear water sloshing inside when lifting front of the machine 6-8 inches from the floor?
  • No power source where located to test - any other advice?
  • Would they be good daily set?
  • Prone to any particular problems/concerns?

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

John

1 Why are they selling them.

2 It is normal to here water when you turn the washers tub by hand, it is the fluid in the balance ring, you worry if you don't here this sound.

3 did you check the serial#s to see if they are really only 8 years old?

4 Blue discoloration in dryers is caused by drying jeans that were washed in only cold water, it doesn't hurt a thing.

5 Possible problems with both of these machines are too numerous to mention, but they are good machines and are very repairable unlike Korean washers and dryers.

Thanks combo52!

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Sellers are moving to an apartment that already has W&D; can't use and no storage.

I will check the serial #s.

Much appreciation
