Does it have any discharges

electron1100's profile picture

Pushed the boat out and got it back together today, and tested it for leaks, put it on a 60o wash and nothing so it should be ok

Gary,

Excellent job done, so much hard work done by you on this classic machine. It almost looks like it's just rolled out of the Merthyr Tydfil factory.

Spares at the roadside

I remember having an old Hoover machine similar to that in my shed for months, needing a replacement motor armature. I think I had ordered a new armature but when it came it was the Hoover Logic type which were smaller. Eventually I found an even older Hoover machine, well rotted away, under a hedge on a verge. Amazingly the armature on that was still OK so I managed to resurrect the machine in my shed.

Hoover Spares

Thanks Craig I have worked on quite a few hoover 11/800s and they are doddle and also my favourite machines, this one is very clean inside and out and has obviously been looked after

Spares, when i worked at the re-cycling centre i was constantly bringing home machines or parts from machines it could almost be done to order at times :-)
Ah well thats all gone now Devon like Cornwall sites are operated by a private company that dont let anything go to the public or the staff........mean bastards so in a way i got out of it at more or less the right time

I intend doing a whites wash at the end of this week and filming it so it will be a good test (90o) and at last a film of this 35 year old beauty in action

I will look forward to watching the video Gary - It is so annoying that most private companies are so strict. I couldn't handle seeing a classic vintage machine & not have the power to take it away & save it. Luckily for me we take away the customers old machines from their own homes so i have the option to save it depending on what it is.

Great to see another classic restored, looks very clean inside, heres to the next 40yrs...

I do like the stick the screwdriver in the holes whilst getting the screws in tip!!

"But i'm still waiting for that True Blue classic to turn up!" - Craig, what would that be??

Backplates

Old Indesits have a clamp band instead of bolts holding the backplate on. With those it is best to lay the machine on it's front for assembly, on old blankets or something. That way gravity is helping to make the plate take its correct position on the tub edge.

DUN ATLAST!

After a bit more tinkering i have finally finished and cobbled together a video of the 3060 and put it on youtube.

Yes i have come across this mounting arrangment before I have 1960s Keymatic that has the same design accept it is the front plate on the tub that comes off, and very heavy it is too as it has weights built into to it
