We just recently moved into a house with a Maytag Performa set in the upstairs laundry room, the dryer is the gas version. I was wondering what possible issues with these would be, and what to watch for. They have been in the house since new, owned by my grandparents, so lightly used and taken care of. They both work well at this point, although the dryer takes forever. I really like the large capacity of both machines and usually don't even run a full load. I just would like to know what to look out for (noises, smells, poor performance etc..) as signs of trouble. THANKS!

The basement laundry room has a late 80's Speed Queen set, I am not concerned about those, I know speed queens are good quality machines :) the washer may need a new belt and/ or a new timer. I will hopefully get down there soon and check things out.
