They are "Lady Kenmores"......TOL for mechanical controls....they do have every option.....one step down from Electronic Digitals.....and appear to be in nice shape, Monochromatic styling, and the light is only above the timer dial, from around 1985/6 to 1990.......but at 400.00, not hardly.......should be closer to 150.00 for the set....

I guess Whirlpool wasn't through running that brand name into the ground yet, so they came up with that awful white on white theme.
Very hard to read dial graphics do not good ergonomics make. I didn't care what features it had after being put-off by that. I was surprised to see a lighted portion of the control panel. Curious, why not make the lamp go all the way across? It's a Lady Kenmore, not a BOL Kenmore Galaxy.
CURB APPEAL = FAIL (wet noodle)

Why should theyu have done that.  It was the "entry level", if not only, model with a light on the panle, if the digital dind't have a light.

Last Lady Kenmores

These are great modern classics that you guys that want full fill washers and warm double rinses and many more features should be grabbing and restoring while parts are still available.

The console light was only over the timer because of COST, if you wanted the full width florescent light you could buy the next model with electronic controls, but the electro-mechaneal controlled machines would be more durable and easier to keep running in the long run.

WP had nothing to due with killing off the LKM brand name, all the marking decisions about Sears Kenmore were up to Sears.

That's just what I did...

"These are great modern classics that you guys that want full fill washers and warm double rinses and many more features should be grabbing..."

I got this set off Craigslist here in Atlanta for $150.00 a few weeks ago...

Works great, and on a medium load setting (what I use the most) with the "Regular" (slow/fast) speed selection, it's gentler than the Amana/SQ I had previously, yet has good turnover...

Awesome machines there.

That is one of the things I like about some of the Kenmores is that those models let you manually select your speed.

I tested a machine similar to that with brown lettering and knobs. It did not have a lock stop timer, but it did have the wash temps built into the timer if you used the "automatic" setting in the center position of the temperature selector switch. You also had the option of using the other settings which overrode the automatic ones. If I did not have my KA washer, I probably would have kept it. The only thing that went wrong with it was that the speed selector switch developed a problem where it tried to run the motor on both speeds at once so I replaced it--a super simple repair.

Lovestowash Series 90 question

That is a nice set and fyi, and I saw these too, being in the Atlanta area. But, I didn't see any reference to a LK or series number...just wondering:

1) Are these series 90 or Lady Kenmore Series 90 , with the LK being implied rather than labelled? I saw someone post here (now withdrawn), that these are LK's.
2)... do you have the year of manufacture or know when Sears began and ended making this model?

Neutral in design and pretty hard to believe they would have the LK label( a long-cry from the 70's and prior design years), they have a lot of features. Aren't these considered one of the last of the Kenmore models that are not made with the now, "use and discard after 5-7 yrs" consumer orientation?

They are definitely a nice set and moreover, a sweet deal at that price! Hope you give those other levels of operation a work-out now and then. LoL!

No "Lady"s here...

lovestowash's profile picture
Washer says "90 Series", and dryer says "90 Plus Series"...
Washer model is 110 26912691, serial CJ3188415, if that helps determine the age...
They look brand new, except for the yellowing of the knobs...
I use all the speeds, and especially like the "Hand Washables - Intermittent Extra Slow" third speed that washes for 10 seconds, then soaks for 20 seconds...

Series 90 washer d.o.b.

ovrphil's profile picture
You probably all know, that a useful link to date your machine(I don't know how accurate it is) ...is the link I included.

So your washer alone's D.O.B. was August 1999.

Oh well, yellowing knobs tells the owner, "time to buy a new set". Plastic is so "eh".

I like that hand washable feature, too. Oh well, mine is really an old Chevy, delicates are the hand washable setting.

Hope it's solid while you own it, anyway... Enjoy!
