The motor was burned out. Luckily I had a spare Hoover twin tub motor which was of the exact same design so I used the windings from that and had it up and running by the evening! It works really well but the fan is really noisey. James. |

Hello firstly well done on executing the repair good thinking there, also congratulations on getting an absolute classic Hoover dryer these are very good machines.
You should grease the rear bearing, if you take off the fan drive pulley you can get to the bearing shaft also the only other possible problem is the fan drive belt itself these can and do go limp over years and the fan will not turn, any questions dont hesitate to ask Gary |

Found a suitable belt, I think it came off a twin tub but I'm not sure. Its a close match, frayed a bit but not that bad and its tighter so the machine is quieter. So happy its working fine now. James. |
