Seeing that "Vintage Craigslist Finds..." has been such a hit (2400+ views in 10 days) I thought I'd make a recurring thread along those lines, but adding other sources from the net, like ebay, Kijiji and the like. Even if it's an older ad, it's interesting to see what's available and what the sellers think they are worth, even if some are pretty delusional. Even though the emphasis is on washers and dryers, other appliances are welcomed as well. I'll try to keep the postings at 100 or so before I start another part.
Remember, this is just passing along an ad, no endorsements are being made or implied for sites, services or sellers. Always use your better judgement when responding to an ad.
So folks, repost those great appliance finds that are out there. You may help a fellow member find that dream washer, mixer or stove. Gives ya' a warm, fuzzy feeling all over, doesn't it?

And he couldn't post a better picture, or something is wrong with the console. Price is pretty steep.

This CL-posted washer is a ? model. I'm not a wringer washer fan, but they are definitely interesting(not a plug, but this youtube video gives a nice quick tour of some of these old machines...also a demo of the helical trans of 1949:

This double stacked bad boy will do any job you can throw at it. It will handle 9 prime ribs in each deck or other large catering orders without a grunt. These ovens are built like tanks and will cook anything fast and well.

Looks like the guy with the Maytag on ebay (in Oak Brook, IL) has the '67 GE range posted earlier in another thread.
If you look next to the Maytag washer, there is what appears to be a Hamilton (?) dryer... CLICK HERE TO GO TO gansky1's LINK on eBay |

That style is too "dated" to be 1960s. MAYBE 1959 late early 1960. These were TOL. Our 1961 had a significantly modernized panel and control knob was moved to the right. They also did away with that exhaust grilol in the middle of the panel. That was very 1950s. That's not a double oven, it's oiven with broiler in the bottom section complete with rotissorie. |

"Would be a good addition to someone in NC." and
"Gordon, you know that one has your name written all over it. " Well gents, I love the comments, :-) thanks, and I couldn't agree more. I love the blue basket, LOVE it, and I have always admired this model, or the more typical 400, which I've reviewed numerous times in the 1969 catalogs. I'm pretty sure this would reveal itself to be a 1969 model, however the more typical 400 model throughout the 1960s was a single cycle, single speed model, the 1969 cataog model being no exception. It otherwise looked identical to this machine. This must be the 410-setup model. There is something about the gold agitator and the blue basket that I think is striking. Well, I contacted the seller yesterday (after trying to ignore it, really I did!) and he replied that the machine was available and in his backyard under a tarp. Two hours later I got another e-mail stating that it didn't run when he went to test it. I have written back, and called his number saying "I am not skeered of it if it doesn't work and I still would like it" but we'll see.' This is a lightly used machine, for sure. The top and lid are NOT porcelain, so if they've not turned all to red-rust by now, the machine has seen light use. So, cross your fingers. Gordon |

how many conventionals are still out there: that ABC is a beaut and cool to see the Company's Wringer Washer whose agitator is remarkably similar to the 3 vane KM version. And I like the long hose.
Figuring the Oasis is the KM version of the WP Calypso. We don't see many of them, do we? That's one of the few contemporary machines I would welcome home if I could.
Thanks King Louis of Search and Deliver. |
