Starting a new thread so as not to diminsh the latest Texas wash-in. IIRC our gracious hosts have said this event has an open invitation to all applianceville dweebs, er members. So here I go shooting off my mouth. Yes, toggle's treats will be served on a silver platter. (I'm gonna be cooking. Bring Kaopectate! LOL). There well be NY attitude, Arizona hospitalty and a rip-roaring good time for all. I hear our hosts have FABULOUS new machines in their colleciotns. So save your rubles, drachmas, shekels and pounds sterling. BUT GET THERE! |

YAY!! I'll try to attend this April because I really want to see Nate's, Ross's, and Roger's collections, but nothing final yet. Maybe I can convince Glenn into going as well... |

That sounds great! I've never been to a wash-in (I hope there are no initiation processes like there are at the Rocky Horror Picture Show) lol I'm actually close enough to attend one. |

There is a little dance (or a jig, rather) you do have to perform in order to be properly "initiated" into a wash-in..... you will soon see what I mean. Bryan (Tex) |

Keep me posted on the dates. Tucson isn't too bad a drive from Las Vegas, NV. It's about 5-6 hours to Phoenix, then a couple of more to Tucson. I think it would be fun to meet some of this group. |

Well Brown Eyed Girl: First: The complete body shave. Second: Sccrifice of virgin to the appliance gods...(we may have to skip this part, (Lack of volutnteers and eleigible parties). Third: classic ball-room dances. CHA CHA CHA Fourth: OKTOBERFEST type booze-fest, drinking songs (social lubrication, ya know.) Fifth: Lots of black leather. JUST KIDDING. THINK 60's style hippie love-in. (without chemical substances) There truly is lots of comraderie and instant affection. |

Since so much has transpired lately, I am thinking of a variety of photo-ops to spice-up our fun in AZ. (YEAH LIKE WE WE'LL NEED ANY SPICING-UP). Of course I want to get devil and demon costumes....ROFL So if you are attending the AZ wash-in please send me your shirt size and pant size; and your gender, if there is any confusion. LOL. In the Subject Line please write *MY SIZE IS..* I will be sure to spot it. Of course details of my satanic plots are avaialble upon request. Let me know your favorite music type (dance-able preferably), as I am trying to get a CD mixed that we can ALL enjoy. I wont say *no* to music files sent either. |

Please keep us posted as to the schedule of the events. I would love to come but I can't say for sure right now, it all depends on my work schedule at that time. I should know by the end of February. It would be great to see everyone and I have a good friend in Flagstaff that I would like to visit, so I could come for a least one or two days, but it does depend on work. |

Said: I'd love to meet all y'all but I would be so intimidated by what everyone knows and what they've done. When I went to the convention: 1- I had never been west of the Mississippi 2- I have not made my own travel plans in 14 years. 3- I had not traveled (that far) alone. 4- I knew very few people in the club, and was terrified I'd confuse real names, screen names and e-mail addresses. 5- I really had a slight fear in middle America that I'd be singled out and harassed because of, well you know. -NONSENSE. 5- I was terrified I'd make a fool of myself. I did, and that was the best part! Many of us in the club have a liking for washing machines. Some like me are not all that well versed. I think I speak for everyone -- We all have a common thread runnign through us. Many of us have another common thread running through us. But here comes the biggest truth you will ever hear. There is VERY much love, and respect, and concern and family spirit. The bonds are instant and real. Peace out. Too much said |

I can't attend Tuscon. As mentioned in another thread discussing this gathering, I can't do a trip on an end-of-month weekend. *Maybe* if 3/31 was on Sunday and I was back that evening, but no way with it on Friday. I have tasks to do that are time/date sensitive. I will, of course, be eagerly anticipating pics, videos, and stories! |

Ralph, I agree, you've got to go! In 2001 I came over from Europe for my first convention. I had never seen a working American toploader and the knowledge I had of those machines came from the club members and from the internet. It was one of the greatest experiences in my life. Never felt intimidated, just very welcome.

I have some training to do in Phoenix around that time so I am trying adjust my project plan to do the training the last week of March and the first week of April. I could just spend the weekend in AZ as compared to coming home. Gee, I wonder what I could do over that weekend for fun? Any suggestions? Now I gotta see what the husband thinks. He barely survives a week when I'm gone he'd probably be in a mental hospital by the end of two weeks. |
