This photo shows our ~1991 KUDA22ST3 Washarm Spray Support.

I believe the lower white plastic piece should fit further down into the gray assembly. It then is held there by the round brass fitting.

In the picture it currently appears crooked and loose.

If I am correct about the fitment I have not been able to snap the lower white piece into the gray assembly without forcing and possibly breaking it.

So my question is how do these parts correctly fit together and what do I need to do to achieve the correct fitment for the optimal water distribution to the lower and upper washarm sprays?

Thanks.

I know the complete replacement part # is 4163370. I don't think you can glue this part back in place from similar previous issues. These parts are sadly no longer available but you may be able to search the web, ebay, or local parts stores for leftover inventory.

Good luck,

Patrick

Temporary fix...

Tom. you can take the support apart from the underside of it and then will be able to see where the tabs on the bushing will snap back in to place. One of the members on here had the same problem and they resorted to a marine epoxy to hold it in place better. You may want to try the same trick. Otherwise you will have to search out a replacement.
Wasn't it nice of Whirlpool to obsolete such a popular item? "Oh sorry, you will have to replace your dishwasher because we dont want to provide parts for these popular machines!"

Thanks for the advice...

I just purchased a 'Like New' replacement part...details to follow after installation...

BTW I have another support I disassembled and it was not amenable to snapping back in place...glue is not a solution for this particular bushing-support assembly either because it looks worn and no longer snaps in place into the tabs.

NLA

Just about everyone shows the item and then says it is NLA. Maybe it pays to call and check?

good deal, Tom

Glad you found a new one for your machine.A new support will give you many more years of life from your machine. I would still try to fix the old one and save the new one for when the old one really gives out completely.

Repaired

The new part arrived.

The washarm support and screen were successfully replaced.

Now looking for 'like-new' racks:

Upper Rack = Whirlpool/Kitchenaid Part # 9741982

Lower Rack = Whirlpool/Kitchenaid Part # 4172117
