It's a nice machine, and it seems like the KUDS 22's and 23's are coming out of the woodwork lately, but I still wouldn't fork over $95 even for the last of the desirable KitchenAids unless it was new or barely used.

Weren't they made by Hobart as well and had the same durability/ quality as the 17-21 (Monterey). Not familiar with the models that weren't prone to problems in age.

The 20's were the last of the true Hobarts.  Starting with the 21's the design was still Hobart's, and Whirlpool made only minor changes through series 22.  The big change with the 23 series was Whirlpool's outfitting them with their power module pump & filtering system.  I think it was with the 24's that little of Hobart's influence was evident anymore, other than the 4-way hydrosweep wash arm and perhaps dispensing systems.  That's why you don't see much posted here with regard to KA machines beyond series 23.

My Patrician by Hobart

I bought my home in 1998 and it came with a KitchenAid Patrician dishwasher. I knew I'd rather have an old KitchenAid over a new anything and thanks to the handyman skills of my husband, we've been able to keep our machine running all these years. Several years ago we had a problem with the detergent dispenser door not opening for the 2nd cycle. Unable to find a replacement part, my husband removed the unit and put it back upside down which seemed to solve our problem. Sadly, this evening, my husband advised me that the remaining operating door had broken completely off and he is unable to find a replacement. So either someone here can help us located a replacement dispenser unit or I will consider selling the unit as is. This dishwasher still works fabulously and I am glad to see a group of people who might be able to appreciate the workmanship of the Hobart Patrician. If your interested in this machine, call at 570-368-8995 and leave a message.

Finders-Keepers.

Vic,
A broken dispenser is no reason to get rid of your Patrician Machine. I have some spare doors with dispensers in them. Let me know if you would like one of the dispensers. They are all double door dispensers and will fit right into your door. The double units are the classic light blue style.

I also have one or two of the white single swinging door types if anyone needs one of them.
Time to clear out the Attic Stock!
