Congrats - hope it works out for you. If you did some research on this before you bought it, did you find alot of support /recommendations for this model? How did you choose it?

Reviews on Amazon.com left me wondering, 1) where are the good reviews since the satisfied consumers of products don't seem to comment as much as the unhappy souls and 2) Is this model prone to electronic board failure, leaks, and other flaws vs. other Kitchen Aid dishwasher models and 3)it appears that because less water is used(common, right?, for today's energy star ratings),the cycle might be up to 2 hours to clean a load of dishes and then, some aren't getting their dishes clean.

You have 30 days to evaluate; if you decide to keep it, I hope the warranty protects you and not Kitchen Aid.

:-) Best wishes!

It will probably be a perfectly good machine for you.

I am becoming increasingly suspicious of internet ratings for anything - as mentioned previously, dissatisfied customers will go all-out to rant, since the internet is a great forum for airing grievances, whether they be real, perceived or just flat-out imagined.

KitchenAid dishwashers are made by Whirlpool now, and given that, you have about a 90% chance of getting a machine that survives the warranty period.

What IS the warranty period for this machine?

Along with water usage has the warranty been reduced from months to weeks?

Kitchen Aid dishwasher warranty is:

1 year parts & labor on the entire machine.

2nd through 5th year, parts only on nylon dish racks and electronic controls.

Lifetime parts and labor on stainless steel tub and door liner.

That's probably about as good a warranty as a person could get these days - it's the same as the $1,500-$2,000 Bosch dishwashers.

I found that warranty on another Kitchenaid dishwasher and felt it was good, too...just as long as they honor it w/o presenting any "howevers and buts".

Jetawayjuan : Enjoy the dishwasher, and bring some photos heres to show it off. ;^)

Exactly -- enjoy the dishwasher. The guy comes here and posts about his new acquisition and gets grief. Not cool...
