Maybe not.

Were they there previously?
I don't know for certain, I'm not a Hotpoint fan - never have been.

These manufacturer websites seem to be notoriously unreliable (Hoover is another), where new machines take an age to materialise on the site, despite the fact that they have been in the shops for months. And then there are the fibs they tell, about features the appliance has, when in reality it doesn't (Hoover again).

Funny how they would discontinue them not long after launching them.
@rolls-Rapide: they were originaly on the website

Very odd indeed. Maybe Indesit are cutting back?

It is possible that indesit are cutting back as said by Rolls-Rapide

Noticed this myself earlier when I happened to visit the site on a whim. Note that if you download the brochure they still show the new range.

I find modern Hotpoint fairly yawnsome to be honest...not even sure why I visited the site!

It was one of the major suppliers altering their terms and conditions to suit......and wouldnt you like to know which one that was!!!

Very naughty of appliances on line to put the boot in though, just goes to show, nothing is as it seems... ....Lets hope their next competitor pays them the same vitreolic visit one day, as recent company reports promote - cashflow is always an issue!!!

Karma it appears has just re-entered the atmosphere, and not before time!!

If you look at other countries' websites, like Italy where the old range was totally discontinued, you'll see that there are no washing machines at all. It's just a database update in my opinion, no series was discontinued :)

Indesit Company website issues

Indesit Company seem to be very bad at updating there website. Especially the Hotpoints side.
No there lines haven't been discontinued, there still in shops, and even if they have been discontinued, I am sure a new line will replace them. I already heard about a new Hotpoint Technology for the Aqualtis machines called Power foam (basically I think it will work like Samsung eco bubble), I also read somewhere Hotpoints HD technology could be rolled out to the Ultima's?? Could mean the 71l titanium drum is introduced on the Ultimas as well.

for gods sake, there's a slight website change and everyone jumps the gun! Hold your horses, girls, lets wait and see. The current Hotpoints are still on sale on many websites and in many shops, I highly doubt they've been discontinued.

well, it seem's you're the one that needs to chill out, jumping the gun claiming that the range has been discontinued without any idea what you're really on about. Nice form of attention seeking

NOTICE THE ?! QUESTION MARK!! if your going to get pissy then dont comment as why would you be pathetic and start an argument like that. grow up.

Boschlover - The Titanium models feature a Fibretech tub - this holds in heat better, and is stronger plastic than a standard washer tub. The Titanium is also stronger metal than Hotpoints other drums, which means there is even less chance of it exploding on a spin. Titanium also doesn't allow Limescale to cling to it, unlike stainless steel, meaning the machine is always* clean.

*of course odurs still develop if using cold wash, not allowing machine to dry out properly etc.

Optima, have you been told, as you work in an Appliance store, Hotpoints are discontinued?? I am sure you will provide an answer. From the Photo, looks like they're all in stock still, so can't be discontinued??

well i dont think they have discontinued now, as aquacycle made PERFECTLY clear.
and thats great, hopefully all machines will be made like in future?:)

The titanium drums are not all what they are made out to be, I currently have a stainless steel Ultima which has the 71l titanium drum and the bigger drum causes nothing but trouble when it comes to balancing; the spin rhythm is also different between the rinses - the interim spins take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete (often longer due to the more sensitive balance sensor, which is understandable) rather than the 5 mins on the versions with the smaller drums - however the paddles really do tumble the load well.

The machine also takes a long long time to heat up the load so I'm not sure how the Fibretech insulation (or whatever it's called) works - I'm pretty certain the machine has a faulty PCB but seeming as I purchased it from Comet I didn't take any chances with a replacement and opted for a refund - it is being returned anyway due to a being delievered with a cracked display. It's being replaced with a WMUD962G which has teh 62l drum and the less-sensitive balance sensor, having used Darren's and owning a Futura for a couple months (which I am selling on) these are far more quicker and time-efficient when it comes to balancing/spinning - and with cycle times in general.

Glenfield; with all due respect I doubt the Titanium drum makes much difference - I've never had trouble in the past with machines (or stainless steel for that matter) clinging onto limescale, in fact the very nature of the material is that dirt does not hold to it. Generally if a machine gathers and mould mildew limescale etc it is on the plastic and rubber parts rather than the metal - that and it is often down to misuse; Im sure there are still users out there who will be able to gunk up a Titanium drum whereas others who use standard machines who's machines are looked after and pristine.

Back to the original topic of the thread, the current Hotpoint range appears to be on the site at least on my connection - if you are referring to the Futura/Style/Experience models, they are exclusive ranges and have never been listed on the website which only displays the official range (as with any manufacturer).

Jon

as nice as the Futura/Style/Experience ranges are, I find them 2 be confusing next 2 the main Aquarius/+/Ultima models, I'm good @ memorising the model numbers of Hotpoint's but I'm not sure if I can remember those of the exclusives. But then again, Hotpoint have been offering exclusives 4 years, starting with the best buy models in the late 70's. :)

How i loved it back in the day when we had straight forward model numbers like WM52 First Edition & WM62 Aquarius. It's getting beyond a joke now.

the hotpoint site is horrible and often doesnt show any machines when i visit, AFAIK the current range will be around for at least another 3 years before they start a new range.
