Washer model is LXA5540W1. This model has the manual brush lint filter right? I know I've seen ones like it that do, but wanted to know. Nice set. Too bad I am not in the market.

Have a good one,
James

I doubt it. West Hartford is inland, not on the coast. The worst these beauties may have been is in the dark and perhaps cold.

I agree. And they don't appear to have the tell-tale water-line that most flooded appliances have on them.

OK Once again I have asked for them to send me a couple of Photos with the lid open.

Last few times I ask people think I am crazy and don't send anything.... but yet people complain about the economy.... Here I am an Axtious buyer willing to have the thing shipped down the GA...

Agin we'll see how they respond!

Actually these are 1972 models, but do have every ounce of the 60s charms, and were no different.

I just found this ad on CL and did a product search and found this forum...again....(I picked up a 1967?KitchenAid/Hobart dishwasher the other day thanks to this forum) so I figured it was time that I sign up.

I'm considering these, even though what I have work well...but, what can I say? I love me some vintage.

Is there anything in particular that I should look at when checking them out? Anybody know anything about the washer 'unbalancing' without a full load? My 6 year old machine does that now and drives me nuts.

Any information you can give would be very helpful.

Thanks.

is it possible for a member close by/local to get it and hold them, and then have a shipping company pick it up from there?

Obstructionists

Some people can't wrap their little minds around the idea of people like us who collect appliances. When dealing with these folks I try to communicate to them the idea, "as long as you get money for these items what do you care where they go?" as politely as humanly possible. Still I've dealt with **holes who refused to sell to me because they interpret the Craigslist manifest as excluding all but local buyers. The world would be a much easier place without people.

You are SOOOOOooo right! And people want to blame the poor economy on the Government, when if they wouild do TEIR part and not be lazy. My money is a green is the next! I evevn show them THIS websight and tell them this is a club that collects Vintage machines like this. Still no help..

We will see where this goes..

Ken, you & I do not agree on a whole lot, but I am with you 100% on this one.  I'd like to pop the person that came up with "I'm a people person."  They obviously hadn't dealt with a lot of the general public!!!

The best I can do..

There might be a chance on the way home from my trip Sunday that I could pick them up, but once I get them to Jersey, I am basically screwed. I don't have any space to store them, and being able to get them to a shipping company may be hard. I could at least get them from CT though.

Tell them you got the same set from your grandmother, and you want a similar W/D for spare parts.

well, lets see.......

if Brian can get them to Jersey......and then have a shipping company like UCrate.com schedule a pickup, they would only have to sit outside for a day, covered up, because UCrate would pick up right from Brian's house....

you could always call UCrate and get a price quote, as well as a expected time for a pallet drop-off.....actually the pallet could be at Brian's waiting, once he gets home, load them on the pallets, and have them picked up the next morning....maybe a little pricey, who knows, but it is a possibility....

I might be in Brian's area in the next few weeks....and can even bring them down to SouthJersey....but then were still stuck on getting them closer to you, without the aid of a shipping company....

BTW: Brian, don't you have a machine identical to this that you wanted to get rid of?......you could send it along, that way 1966 would have a machine, and a spare for parts...just a thought....

Hate to see you break up a pair such as this.  thesse are beginning to get difficult to find in many places--matched sets.

Well I am Turley thankfull that everyone is so willing to help. What makes America great. I don't need the dryer I can pay for both and someone can have the dryer free! Plus a little cash to boot if they want to help me out here . Talking with the owner the pair is in his basement. Anyway anymore suggestions are gladly welcomed!

Thanks and happy thanksgiving

@appnut -- will show pics of dishwasher after installation.

@1966_mustang -- I heard back from the seller today. I figured they were gone because its been quite a few days since my inquiry on them. I feel bad that you want the washer so much, and I want the set, and I'm in CT. I'm going to schedule a time to get them. If for some reason I don't want to keep them for myself, I can get them anyway and make arrangements with you to have them picked up here.
