And needs rescuing. Appears to be a Hobart AM-9. I hope someone will give this old guy a forever home and save him from being pressed back into daily use or worse yet scrapped out. This is a true classic powerhouse dishwasher.

I feel your pain/ Love for these old "guys", but these are not a Superba or Custom that you could pick up by yourself on a good day.
They're kind of hard to sneak into the house too as they way 600# plus as you know. I wish You and I could have a Centrally Located Warehouse to Save these and even set a Museum like John and Tom have in Maryland. There have been some nice machines you've posted recently. But as Steve says, there are few to no parts left for these just like the domestic appliances we love. Imagine having One of each Hobart Models through the years. Imagine the "UM and WM Gallery" , The AM Pavillion, The C Line Ball Room, and the FT Wing !!! Stevet could be the Curator of the Museum, and we could be the Operators and Demonstrators. |

That is a goal of mine to have the time and resources to start grabbing these old guys up and giving them a a nice retirement before they get scrapped or worked beyond repair. No more 16-18 hour days doing thousands of racks. No more being abused by dumb kids, that overload, never change the water, and generally beat the hell out of the machine. Just easy days of demonstration, good soft water and plenty of TLC.
I love the Idea of a museum for Hobart's. We could have some real fun with that. Stevet as curator, I wouldn't want a non Hobart tech holding the job. It was fun to read your reply this morning. :) Wk78 |
