Hi guys my so waited and wonderful Servis Mk2 arrived just 15 minutes ago, the problem? It came with it's knobs destroyed! The plastic ring in the timer and pumping knob were missing as for the timer and pumping program dial peel inside. Unpacking it pieces of plastic ring, the timer knob and peel dropped on the floor, and God, I didn't crush it anywhere so it was during shipping!
Thanks in advance to everyone who can help me. Also I thank infinitely to Nina for everything and selling shipping it to me, despite she took much care of the packaging and she did a good job they were able to damage it anyway.
Please help me!

Yep! And unfortunately I experienced it also in the past but not so much, but what can you do? I'm contacting Fedex asking what of the word FRAGILE written in large letters on the package they did not understand, it is the first time something like this happens with them. Thank you for comforting words! I appreciate them! |

Hello if the Timer spline is missing then sadly thats been snapped off as the spline is part of the timer the knob just pushes on to it. However do not despair there are timers about I have a few, I just need you to tell me if its a 2 or 4 contact as they did two designs. You will have to take the front panel off to access the remains of the timers.
There is one screw under the pump knob and then there is one underneath at the front you should be able to pull the panel away from the bottom just make sure you do not pull any wires off without knowing where to put them :) Austin |

Thank you Nina, I will send you more pics later for sure, I already wrote few lines to Fedex yesterday and spoke with a Fedex UK rep...the Fedex UK didn't help and told me that I had to contact the Fedex office of my area to file a complaint (a payment number for the record). Nina I'm almost fully sure that is fell, it was on a pallet suppoorted just by it's weight, no belt or rope, a wheel was bent as probably it engaged on the pallet and stayed hanging on that side for awhile, I believe also it slided going here and there and getting hits.... the body a part the scratches loks OK, but you know it's a very strong and heavy machine, it's plug was all bent and you know that to bend one of yours UK plugs thick fins you need a good weight/force on it! I really spent alot of effort to straighten it, so it means it was pushed so much even under that thick layer of bubble wrap and cardboard. This post was last edited 11/17/2012 at 07:10 |

Hi Freddy, sorry to hear about the delivery, will search about and see what we can come up with, basically its the wash knob and timer and the pump control knob, must say they are rare and only come to existence when a minger of a machine is scrapped, which hasnt been any in my case, I`m sure I have a pump knob....
Will check this week and let you know asap!! Do you have any more pics, is it rusty or is that just the phone camera? For anyone searching its the two lower ones that Freddy needs!! |

Hi Freddy,
Congrats on your machine, you have been waiting for one for so long, bit of a bummer that it got a bit damaged in transit, but rest asured, I am sure amongst us we will help all we can. I will pop to my garage tomorrow and see if i can find any knobs, I scrapped my first Mk2 years ago, after i fully restored it, it had a few issues and a new had already come along in perfect condition, I am sure i took all the knobs off. I think the removal of the front panel can be a bit tricky if it is anything like the MK1's, just had a look at the technical manual and there are two pins that come up from the base which the front panel have holes for, there are 3 tabs at the top of the panel which go behind the front frame, I know when i took mine of I found it tricky and ended up releasing the retaining clamps at the back, although i am going back over 15 years so the ole brain could be getting rusty !! The attached pic is of my first servis twinny. I will let you know once i have have a rumage !! Cheers Keith |

Thank you guys for all the kind help, wishes and support! Thank you Keith if you can find the knobs you'd make me so happy, I'm sorry to hear you had to scrap your first one, and after the restoration but I'm happy another one came along! I already removed the front panel and it was not that difficult just the 2 screws that Austin mentioned, I removed the internal switch frame and checked the timer, is a 4 contacts timer....
God Bless you! This post was last edited 11/17/2012 at 11:04 |

I was told via PVT message that some oil after these years is normal , so I will just wait to see if everything works and leaks again ...I've cleaned now and seems nothing leaks.... |

Does not leak now seems, all is clean.... I will have to wait to run the wash motor to determine if oils during gears movement gets out.... I cannot seen any seal coming out in the joint of gearbox/transmission assembly but I'm sure it should be one.... Thanks |

Hi Freddy, it looks like every other Servis MK2 I`ve seen, just a normal build up of oil, from the front of the machine the vent on the gearbox is visible at the back. Still checking for controls, will visit storage this week to see what can find!
I`ll check with Matt tonight about bypassing the timer, need to make sure its the right info.. |

Hi All!
Austin, the timer and hose connector were in my post box today, I already removed mine and half disassembled the timer you sent, it looks slightly different as mine looks like had kinda ring where the spline is, while yours have a screw which is built in the timer body, not sure what was that for, maybe for a different model . Does not look simple to replace the spline so I will bring everything at work today as we've an acquinatance of mine who is an electrician so i will ask him to help me. Thank you! Austin Expect a small gift in return for them! Hope you can enjoy an italian detergent! I hope someone could send me the knobs.... Looking forward to operate the machine within tomorrow! Thank you again! |

Hi all, unfortunately I got a bad (for me) news about the timer, I had it looked from my father (the electrician couldn't help much) since it is more a clock than an electric thing, him being a jeweler and understanding more about clocks told me the bad news.
The timer is a mechanical not an electromechanical one as I previously tought, nothing but a spring operated clock, we looked it togheter and he said as I could notice myself also after having the mechanism completely removed that the spline cannot be changed at least not so easily, this unless after having disassembled all the clock movement which is an hard task for both me and him ( he is used to other kind of watches) he also said he is not sure if the spline can be changed, at least that would mean disassemble piece by piece the unit..... So all I can do with the timers is to bring them to a watchmaker (that today was closed) hopefully that he can do something and also and no less important will not ask a fortune ti fix it.... I do not know if will be more convenient and so cheaper to have Austin's timer fixed or mine having the spline replaced and all reassemled then, the sure thing is that it all is a thing I can't do myself, and I'm so hopeful will not have to spend a fortune... Nothing is loss anyway, is just good to have had that timer from you Austin, at least is a better starting point as without the spline I could not go anywhere. Thank you again! Disassembling it I also learned how to bypass the contacts and that is just a good thing! I will try to operate the motor later! I will also post some pics od the timer disassembled so that maybe this thread will be a useful one if anyone in the future will have a similar issue, hopeful it will not happend to anyone! Thank you again for the help! Freddy |

Hi all again.
Sadly the watchmaker could not help, he said he was not sure to manage what I was asking him as long as the option of fixing the timer that Austin sent, he has been very honest he said that it would have costed him alot of time he didn't have and so he didn't feel to ask me money in case of failing and it was a very probable thing to happend...... So back to starting point :( But. Speaking with that electrician today he said there could be the possibility to get an electromechanical timer that would do the work it does, shape might be very different and also not sure if the spline would be the same or would fit but now like now that would be the only thing I could try..... Hope is still strong.....wish not another letdown waiting for me.... I'm so frustrated.... I will post some pics I took with my phone of the timer..... Thank you all again! |

Thank you Mike I'm not upgraded now so I couldn't see messages, I didn't have funds on my prepaid card but I will try to upgrade right now as I should have received a refund from ebay yesterday so maybe I have money in my card now, but not fully sure if the funds are already been charged usually a refund takes few days.
If I cannot manage to upgrade I would kindly ask you to copy and paste the message and send it to my facebook or personal email (the one in my profile is my current email) Thank you alot!!! |
