Last night I was watching the DVD of "What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?", my favorite Musical - Comedy, and I noticed they had an early Maytag set. With a few empty Budweiser 6 packs on the top. That Jane! Even tippling while doing the wash. My kind of gal! So this was product placement before they invented product placement. Today they could have capitalized on it in a commercial way. Like:

"Maytag, a timeless classic. Just like Baby Jane Hudson!" or

"These old Maytag's are work horses, just like Baby Jane!"
AND they could have re-worked her theme song into"I've writ-ten a let-ter to May - tag, sayy-yying, I Love You" A missed opportunity for sure.

The buanderie Chez Hudson was graciously equipped with a Maytag AMP. The Budweiser was there to brace Miss Jane for the rigors to come....

IF the nameplate that was used was original, it looks like a later production (1951-52) of the original AMP.
Here's a picture from the parts catalog.

As near as I can tell, the A2MP (1953), A3MP (1954) & A4MP (1955) all used this later front emblem as well as using metallic-plated knobs on the controls. The only machine that resembled this was the 121P (1954) and that machine didn't have a backlit emblem, just a decal.
