Hello, This is my hand washing set. this is all what i use to wash my towels and delicate clothes.

My handwashing set includes these items: Sterlite Tub, Maytag Power-Fin agitator, and Tide Plus A Touch Of Downy

I add the detergent in the agitator. this way when i fill the tub it doesnt get too sudsy.

I tested the agitator lint filter. i got a big hunk of lint from our Whirlpool Dryer and i brought up to the hand washer and filled up the tub with just water and put put the agitator in and put the hunk of lint in it and washed away! when i was done and i didnt see any lint so i checked the lint filter and their was all the lint! it works!!!!!!!!

How do you use the agitator? Do you just grab it on the top and twist it back and forth? My thoughts would be, you could mount the bottom of it to a lazy susan, so it would move back and forth easier...

Is there a shaft in the tub for the agitator so it doesn't move around when you turn it by hand? How 'bout going for a Maytag wringer washer-then no turning the agitator by hand.

How i move the agitator

What i do is i grab the bottom fins of the agitator and turn it back and fourth. Its all manual Washing here. this requires me to put my hands in the water.

Yep, I still handwash some things, too...keeps me young. :-)

Are you actually turning that agitator? There are squirrel cages with gears you can attach to the bottom; promise a Michigan brown or black squirrel a winter's worth of the best nuts...and you can power those blue fins. Then do a YouTube - you'll have a million hits. :-)

Well, moving the agitator by hand would build up muscles!Did try it in one of my KN machines-BD,has DA agitator-could barely move it thru a load of clothes try trying to turn the top-and could only turn it one way since the auger top of the Da declutches when you turn it the other way.If there was a way to attach a wrench or lever to the agitator-would indeed be easier. You couldn't move the agitator by hand by the base if you were washing with hot or bleach water.

Just thought of this-need to get the plans of the pedal powered washer used on Gilligans Island-Maybe a bicycle pedal arrangement could be put in place of the motor on a Maytag wringer washer. To wring with this you would need two people-one to turn the pedals-the other to operate the wringer.
