After more testing, when you choose Soak/Scrub or Normal, is sits forever on 'Heating Water'...Ive let it go 30 minuets before giving up and choosing another cycle ..but when you choose Light China or Quick Glass, it quickly heats the water (5-7 min) and the cycle begins...the incoming hot water at the tap is 120F..if this is a timer issue, Ill just use those 2 cycles as they work well anyway...I have a spare timer that Ill try and see if that does it as well

I'm not sure about the timer. It seems to me that the point on the timer that triggers the heater would be the same on any cycle. I'm trying to picture the schematic in my head and I'm wondering if there is a thermostat that needs to be satisfied before allowing the timer to advance. I think there is and would be wondering about if its having issues...

We had this model in the picture. I got it for my wife at christmas 1983. We had the same problem and Hobart had to replace the program button module. In 1997 the motor burned up after we just reinstalled it during a major kitchen remodel. If this site was around then i would have known to just have it repaired rather that buy a new one. It was replaced with a TOL Frigidaire Gallery which we suffered with for 5 years and replaced that with a Bosch.
