Motor and module. As you can see the drying system on the Hoover is a little bit more complex than the Hotpoint. It's quieter but I am yet to find out how it compares. |

Looks to be a rusty stain down the backplate so there could be a drum bearing problem. It looks like the bearing kits are still available. |

looks more like sealant glue runs to me. as there is no rust on the steel mounting plates for the motor or water corrosion marks on the alloy backplate, so therefore i would be surprised if this were the case.
Still james is more than capable of checking for play on the main bearings so it should not be a problem either way. Great find by the James in such good visual condition, a nice alternative to the Hotpoints, did you see the Logic 1100 for sale in Antrim? Gary |

James
The logic that Gary refers to above has been re-listed with a starting price of only £1 - Ballymoney is not that far from Donegal too. The machine is known to a member on here (andyzanni I think) who has referred to it in a thread. Go on (go on go on go on LOLOLOL), treat yourself for Christmas :) Al CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

Thanks for pointing out the proximity of the Logic Al to me it would be an obvious choice to go for, but not knowing of James's situation its not for me to say he should buy it, but as the Trusty Ms Doyle says go on .......
If James is getting into Hoover logics he may aswell buy a pack of 5 tab washers (always good to have spares), though i admit they are expensive considering what they are. CLICK HERE TO GO TO electron1100's LINK |

Hello James when i think how you were when you first joined this group, like any of us that start collecting at first it seems imposssible and nothing will turn up, but look at you now! having to think about space ;-).........not bad for a couple of years strife is it.
I am sure in the fullness of time other machines will come along and tempt you and make you squirm with should i should'nt i decisions, but its good fun, i think everything turns up at one time or another..........be patient grasshopper ;-) and soon you will be squeezing the odd machine in the house.............(coff coff Mat cardiff) Also happy christmas to you and i hope you enjoy your virtually mint hoover 1100 pressy :-) Gary |

p.s the Logic 1300 washer dryers were the thumbwheel pure logic machines, rather than warmed over Electron 1100's. To the best of my knowledge, though without double checking, there were no dial controlled 1300 washer dryer's. Paul |

Thanks for the heads up Paul! I'll just stick to top access for this one then. It's becoming apparent that Hoover build quality slightly outweighs Hotpoint build quality although servicing is compromised. Roll on tomorrow! James. |

Just wondering as we tried a shop at Aldi and saved lots on own brand products against branded ones...
Will try It, i guess its £2.99 for 30 washes as thats the price of the non-bio on the advert. My Bosch washing machine fills for the first 10 seconds from the main wash chamber then the rest of the time from the prewash chamber so I may have to use my Unspikey (Persil Micro Spikey Ball but the spikes fell out!). However, I am stocked full of Persil for a while... Thanks for the input! |

I think the resistors were only fitted to the 900 rpm and 1100 rpm models from the 1997 range. |
